Art can be satisfying when the work is complete or as you strive through its progress. I have a great time working on digital art, especially with photomanipulations. But it seems as though the world give little credit to digital art and probably less to photomanipulations.

Does anyone show in a gallery (with photomanipulations)?

Does anyone sell their work?

Well it varies, but usually in order to see good detail of the image, somewhere around 800 - 1000 pixels wide. Sometimes larger and sometimes a little smaller.

Hello:

I have been browsing for the last few days, mainly in the photomanipulation areas. It seems as though most use stock images. Where do they get these hi res images? Do you shoot your own photos or do you use stock images?

I curious to know if anyone makes some profit off of their work. I know that most of us create art out of pure enjoyment, but it is nice to get a check AND enjoy the process.

No I don't take my own photos although I wish I did because I think that a lot of the artists that do seem to be a little more original in their work. There are tons of stock photos to use here at DeviantArt that are hi resolution. You can find them by going to browse >> Stock images. There are also some free to use like [link] [link] [link] that are hi res. as well. I go there to find landscapes, and usually find stock images of people here at deviantart. They usually require that you credit them by leaving a link to their stockaccount in the description if you use their images which isn't much to ask.
And yes, you can open up a print account here at Deviantart as well. I'm not sure how much you have to pay. And your prints have to be pretty high resolution before they will approve your images as prints. One reason why I haven't opened a print account is because the most common res for them are around 2200 pixels wide, and higher and I have no idea how ppl make them that big without some stock images loosing their quality. I'm still a little confused about that. You can look more into prints under "help and faq". Hope that answered your questions.
