Idk, had this whole bigger idea for like a whole continent RP type of dealie. Been watching a lot of Game of Thrones lately so I think that's what sparked up my muse. Was thinking about a character who is the bastard son of a King. The King and the whole kingdom gets wiped out by asteroids summoned by a dark magician. My OC was sent away as a boy and only discovers that he is the heir to the kingdom after the whole family is dead. After the "apocalypse" or whatever, the asteroids cause the planets rotation to change, changing the OC's mountainous and lake-ish kingdom to become cold, icy, and snow covered. There's more to it, I just thought I had a cool look for the character in my head and I used to usually bring sprite requests to you, but chances are, nothing will become of this OC because IDK any RP's around anymore, and especially one where I could make my character fit in.

I remembered another one, but it leans heavily on the shoujo side. The manga isn't entirely up to date, but the anime's done. Otome Youkai Zakuro.

Likewise, I've been trying to find lists of yokai-related series. [link] TV tropes has proven rather helpful. Just scroll to the way bottom for a list of series with yokai stuff.

I read the first season and stopped halfway through the second.

Uuuurgh, I hate those fights. Like, seriously, it doesn't even give meaning to the fight anymore. It's a terrible plot device.

The monster characteristics in some of the characters is interesting at least and it's always interesting to see a yokai's powers viewed differently.

I am the most powerful monster in this story! ahahahahaha! Oh no! The protagonist cut me! Removing a limiter: boom, power uprade! Shit, protagonist is more powerful than I thought: merge with this fugly giant ancient monster blob thing by fusion via the lower portion of the body.
Yup pretty much. It gets old.
I like the way the artist draws the fangs on the vampires, it's kind of cute~

Oh, oh, right. I forgot. Are you familiar with the Petshop of Horror series? It's not necessarily youkai most of the time, but a lot of the creatures that show up come from some form of supernatural mythology. It's a fun series.

Yes! I think I stopped after the Kirin part because no more were uploaded. Maybe that was the anime version...
carnivorous mermaid and sweet Medusa are two that really stick out when I remember it. I should read the manga though

And can give you character ideas for your own if you like it enough or you can tweak them a little bit if they seem too OP.

There's actually two of those 'boss' monster though, the leader villain and one of their kids. Except the kid doesn't fuse with the fugly monster and is actually kind of sweet.

Yeah, Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. It's kind of an interesting big-fight series between the main Knights and an all-powerful godlike being. A lot of the mangaka's works seem to sort of follow a similar trend, so they're really action-y.

Aaaahhhh, I couldn't really say it's a good thing to be too FE-inspired, though. I'm having the hardest time getting out of the habit. D8 I think it's a lot more interesting and important to have a sort of design style of your own, y'know?
