I was just wondering- does the style of your art have a name? I tried looking up information on this type of illustration fairytale art, but nothing came up.

There is really no name for it. Line art, perhaps? I can give you terms to look up though: pen and ink, scratchboard, etching, wood engraving.

Wood engraving is an important one to know -- don't be fooled, woodcuts and wood engravings are completely different things.

Line art is like the violin - very versatile. It can be simple or complicated, cheerful or ominous.

Here are some names to look up:
Joan Hassall
George Cruikshank
Hablot Knight Browne
Thomas Rowlandson
Thomas Bewick
Mark Summers
Edward Gorey

That's a place to start.

And don't look these up online!! This art was meant to be seen in a physical form. My originals always look better than what gets uploaded.

Thank you for all the info and your help. I know what you mean about things looking better in the physical form- I sometimes find my own work looks odd or just not quite the same once I'm viewing it on a webpage.

I recently added you to my watch but I didn't know that I had in fact favourited many of your pieces before such as the Pirate Jenny image. I know of few people who appreciate The Threepenny Opera enought to draw about it, it really is a wonderful musical and I especially love your drawing. I also love your Snape/Hermione sketches, they are adoreable. I love your artistic style in drawing so I would especially loe to see more of it

hi there ~ sorry I haven't been around very much recently ~ my brother has commissioned me to do the artwork for his next CD (he's a musician ... obviously!) and it's taking me all my time to search for stock that's OK to use in commercial work. No, I never did officially watch you. You would always have something every day or so, so I would just check regularly. But I suppose a watch is now in order.

I have been absent for a while now too. I'm going to post something about that soon.
