hey! how're you doing? No new deviations since a long time. DA used to be so much fun before the way you used to help me with most of my photographs. Hope you remember all that....

so, how are the netherlands treating you? I forget, have you always lived there? I am such a forgetful person, absent minded professor syndrome...
Toast please, with marmalade. Thank you Higgins....

The Netherlands are treating all it's inhabitants to a nice white surrounding! It looks wonderful, but it's a pain in the ass for cars and bikes. And since I bike to school every morning... (you may complete that sentence any random way you like)
Yes, I was born in the Netherlands and have grown up here! Haha, all proffesors are nutty as squirrel shit!! ^^
Peanut butter-jelly time??
Veerlala" (from the icy-snowy Netherlands)!

Ooh yes, I saw a satellite picture online of all of England, nice and recognizable, completely covered in snow, you Europeaners must be very chilly at the moment. Sorry for all the biking related mishaps. Have you tried using your bike's built in hover powers? Don't know why more people don't.
So, tell me about the Netherlands! What cool things do you do there? What is the nation's favorite flavor of sandwich?
If professors aren't unusual, they lose their tenure.
Veerlala to you as well!

Yeah, Holland's all white as well. Wish I was somewhere on a beach in Florida or sumthin.
And there is NO SUCH THING as Europeaners!! >=[ We all live in different countries, it's not like the countries in Europe are the States of the United State4s of Europe or whatever.
(Sorry, random ranting time, nothing personal.)
I should ask my bike where he's hidden his hover powers. When I asked him how to use the built in ski-mode, he answered me, so it should work for the hover too.
Everyone should ask their bike what its secrets are.
The only cool thing we do in the Netherlands is celebrating the birthday of our previous Queen Wilhelmina, on the 30th of April.
We don't usually eat sandwiches here in Holland. And otherwise it's just bread with cheese. What we do have and no other country in the world has (except for Belgium, which is a Holland-rip off anyway) is: Broodje kroket!
You take some bread and throw some fried meatrolls on it, then you eat it and get fat ^^
Professors should be nutty indeed. (Not because of the Eddie Murphy movie!!)
PS: Haha, you stupid American!! ^^ Veerlala is my nickname. Like this: you take the first bit of my name: Veer (which means feather, by the way, hence my screenname) and then you put my love for music behind it: " Lalalala!!" And then you got Veerlala! (Look me up in your followers list on Twitter )

I figured Holland would be a rather snowy place. I'd recommend a nice beach in californialand where I am, but it's currently raining like crazy here.
You would know about that situation far more than I would, so I apologize for my faux pas. Also, the USA is a pretty huge place as well, we share a common language for the most part, which certainly helps, but I've traveled within the continent alot, and there are a bunch of places that feel quite different from home. Also! I wasn't trying to lump you into any sort of homogeneized clump, and was merely referring to your geographical area, so I think I was accurate.
I may be a stupid american, but I'm no fool : )
No worries on the ranting though, I think I struck a nerve : )
Your bike sounds very friendly. Mine likes to attack me when I least expect it, so I've kept it locked in the garage, feeding it a starvation diet of woodchips and bumperstickers.
Happy Birthday Queenie! How old is she this year? Do you send her presents?
You guys don't have much sandwiches? I like bread and cheese, I have that on occasion, but sandwiches are pretty delicious too. Broodje Kroket sounds good! I'll have to see if I can try that sometime. Nearly everything good makes you fat, I've decided not to worry about it unduly.
Professors should be Zany at the very least, and nutty especially if they're studying squirrels. Squirrelology.
And a very good nickname to you as well! I had my suspicions, and I've certainly learned more/enough about you lately not to make that same mistake twice. Your name is one I've never heard before, and which totally wins at scrabble. I assume you've figured out what I mean by my silly nickname? It's a nice little pun too.
I thought you followed me on twitter! Am I being interesting enough so far?

Hm, I suppose snow is better than rain. Now I can lose the trucks of my skateboard and snowboard on it ^^
I don't mind you saying things with geographical accuracyness, but say so when you do that. 'Cause other wise I'll begin to hold a grudg against you. You watch it, you!!
And I'd love to go to the USA some time. Just to see all the different people in the same country.
Hm, I think I raised my bike a bit better than you did yours. How long are you to together now? Me and my bike are already together for four years now =]
All the other ones I had got stolen =[
The Queen whose birthday we celebrate every year is um... Very old and very dead. She was actually the current queen's mom. So it's just some day on which the Hollanders have a big party in the street every year.
In 2009, maybe you've heard about it, there was some idiot who drove through the fences with his car and hit like 8 people (they all died, some instantly, some afterward in the hospital)and then drove himself to death, with a near miss to the bus in which the whole royal family was waving to us Dutchmen. That was weird. It made everyone in Holland feel less safe, I suppose.
Broodje kroket is yummy indeed, but it does make you fat. It's fast food, so yeah. We even have (as only country in the world) a broodje kroket at MacDonalds!! It's called the McKroket. Really yummy and really fatty.
If I don't get accepted at the art academy, I'll try to get in at Squirrelology. Word to that.
I'm not sure about that nickname of yours. Please explain. It's hard to find pun's in nicknames when you don't speak the language (even if you're a near native speaker like I ought to be after I finished my Cambridge Proficiency...)
You're quite interesting indeed! But I dislike twitter because of the shortness of messages. So I'm not there all the time.
You should try and find me on facebook, if you've got that!

snow is a bit more fun, I think, but warm rain has many good opportunities too. Glad to have so much weather, it's all interesting, variety is the spice of life and all that.
The thing about americans in general and me in particular is that we're not all that fussed about accuracy. I have a very good friend who's swedish, and his grammar and punctuation are impeccable, and he gets very stressed out when he does some tiny thing incorrectly. I don't ever seem to care in the least. A strange thing having this sort of temperment. I shall speak of it no more, as I am no longer interested.
Yes, I think you would enjoy a visit to the US, there is so much of us. Do you guys not have all that much different kinds of people wandering around in holland? I'm used to it, for the most part, you can always be surprized, that's what makes a melting pot so much fun.
I've had my bike for a handful of years, but I don't use it very much, it's probably cranky at me. Things are far to spread out where I live for bikes to be that useful. I'm sorry your bikes got stolened! That is very rude, your criminals ought to be ashamed at themselves.
Ah, gotcha. We celebrate a couple of our presidents birthdays, and they are very dead too. I did not hear about your idiot who drove through a fence, that is very tragic. It seems like foreign tragedies have to be rather epic to penetrate the american news system. I read an article once about how Australia is only mentioned on our news on average about 7 times a year. I hope you guys can safen up quickly and happyfully.
Everything tasty makes you fat, there's no escaping it. McKroket? That's awesome! I like the regional differences mcdonalds comes up with, shows they're trying. In New zealand, they serve lamburgers instead of hamburgers, and all my aussie friends were outraged when they came to visit and McD didn't have their favorite sandwich, the McOz.
I think you could probably do a double major, art and squirrels. What aspect of art do you want to study the most?
Yeah, puns are usually the hardest things to translate, you can never do them verbatim, and almost always have to come up with a local equivalent.
if you say 'raisegrate' out loud, it sounds like Ray Is Great, which makes me giggle, since I am Ray.
Yeah, the brevity of twitter can be annoying, but sometimes it's quite fun to try and sum up your thoughts so succinctly. Yeah, add me on facebook, just type in Ray Friesen and click the one that looks cartoony.

I suppose the spice of life is long gone in Holland. It has snowed again, and it still does. The world, for as far as I can look, is smothered under a white blanket. The sounds are dimmed by the snow that falls and the snow that's already on the ground. The light is mirrored everywere so you almost have to wear sunglasses.
I fuss about my punctuation too, but that's beacause my mom taught Dutch at high school for a long time. Now she teaches Latin, Greek and Classis Culture. But well, if you're not interested in talking about this particular subject anymore, neither am I. It's no fun anyway if you're not going to talk back.
Here in Holland, we also have a melting pot. Lots and lots of Moroccans and Turkeys (the people, not the birds), lots of Polish people and some eastern/asian people. But we're not mixed that much. There's always a forming of groups, and people don't tolerate other groups as much as our loving gouvernment would want us to.
People who steal should always be ashamed of themselves, I think. The whole concept of stealing is rude.
I'm sorry for your bike. When I told my bike your story, he told me to tell you to give your bike a kiss.
Gee, poor Australians. I guess the Metherlands are NEVER mentioned in your press. Or mybe once a year on average.
It'll be safe enough on Queen's Day, I suppose. This tragic accident shocked all of Holland, so no one will try and repeat it. Hopefully.
Haha, the McOz! I'd like to try that sometime. Wanna come with to Aus?
The fact that McDonalds tries so hard is not that good, I suppose. Because faastfood isn't good AT ALL. I mean, have you seen Supersize Me? Gee, that's awful!
Pff, I'm not good at doing two things at a time, being an ADD-person and all x'] But I can mix the study into, maybe: The Art of the Squirrel!
Haha, now I finally get it! But you're right though, you are great x]
Hm, I just dislike Twitter for it. I'm only there to follow PostSecret. ^^
Yay! I survived reading and responding to your bunches of words! We should be official penpals and email each other x']

Hmm. I don't like the idea of spices of life being gone. That's sorta what my english friend Ben says, is everbody in england is sort of bored, and doesn't think anything will ever change. He says the US feels a lot more dymanic, for good or for bad at least we're doing things. Maybe that is because back in the day, more of the adventurous people left to go explore, and either settled down, or died, and so the genetically, the sort of people more inclined to stay home and not do very much prospered. A thought at any rate.
Oog, I hate snow blindness! Yeah, it can get waaay too bright.
I don't fuss about punctuation, which is weird, as a writer, my job is to get my point across in such a way that everybody can understand me as much as possible, and be interesting to boot. I didn't seem to learn my grammar and associated wording things properly, which causes me no end of grief here in my adult life. I am happy to continue the conversation if further interesting bits are to be gleaned, but if the subject has resolved itself of its own volition, let it be.
I think humans are built on a sort of fundamental 'us vs them' making enemies mentality, so this transglobal mixing of cultures that seems to be happening a lot lately gets people slightly confused as to what they should be doing. "Hey, those guys are pretty cool, and now we have easier ways of talking to them' seems like a good thing to be happening to the world in general.
Yeah, as a person who sells things for a living, I find stealing rather reprehensible. I wouldn't want anyone doing it to me, so why would I do it to them? I've accidentally stolen spoons and even a few books before, but I always try and make it up to the restaurants and bookstores I caused the troublems too.
Thank you for your bicycle smoochings. Did you get your bike back, or catch anybody responsible? Hope you don't have to get a new bike.
I can't think of anything specifically netherlandy that's been mentioned in the news lately, but then I don't pay much attention to it anyway. Sorry. You well behaved countries seem to be ignored, if you started doing crazy stuff, maybe you'd be in the press more often.
That's why so americans seem to be obese, we eat very unhealthy food, pretty much all the time. It's very troubling. I have seen Supersize Me, it's very gross but true. Nearly all of the restaurants in my town are fast food.
Sure I'll come with to Aus! I've been there 3 times before, and I really like the country. I actually may have the opportunity to visit Ireland, and some bits of continental europe, I'm very excited.
Yeah, I'm not very good at doing multiple things at once either. Squirrel power!
Am I great? Oh good, my practice is paying off. You're great too! For all those reasons and more.
I like twitter because so many of my friends are on it, that's the main reason I join any social network, not for the thing itself, but for the people there.
I survived reading and responding to your bunches of words too! Penpals seems like a fine idea, in fact, we could be Keyboard Korrespondants, since pen's aren't actually involved anymore.
