While painting I use almost the process as a 3d modeling.
Painters usually use brushstrokes on top of blemishes to create volume and they give the feeling of depth with refinement of these blemishes. I think it's beautiful and I would like to know how to do it, but I did not go very well. So I do my process as if it does a 3d render. First I make the illustration with the colors in the right places (without shadows), then I create the textures and finally I make the enlightenment. It's kinda hard to explain
