I've only been on DevArt for, I dunno, 6-8 months?--and I'm fascinated by the way particular subjects seem to end up as, what would you call it, ethnic neighborhoods?
An amazing number of Architecture/scenery people are from the Middle East (though I've seen more Saudi and Irani than Turkish); a lot of Comics/Cartoons artists here are Filipino; and a lot of Tolkien/Elf artists are Russian, Czech, or Polish....
I'm guessing it's partly a matter of contagious friendships - if we enjoy ourselves here, we suggest it to our friends, who often have the same interests. But I'm really enjoying the variety.
And I particularly like the way you leave some open space in your rooms, rather than filling them completely full of furniture and decoration. Yours are more peaceful, and I can imagine relaxing in them.
A real estate agent I met once said that if she's going to show a furnished house for sale, she makes sure the furniture is sparse and quiet so the propsective buyers can feel comfortable and imagine their own furniture fitting in quietly too, instead of feeling cramped and busy.
