well, I don't know if I'd be a great person to ask. I've only sold 2 commissions here. But there some things I guess I can say on the matter.
Be sure to get thorough details, the less reworks you have to do the better, that's for you and your potential customers.
Try to be prompt and somewhat speedy with your work. Never want to keep people waiting.
never finish the work before getting paid. It's okay to show your progress to you customer, but be sure to get paid, or else you might just get burned. Most people (so I've heard) are kind enough to pay up front, but you never know.
