Man, when Jenna said that, and on video and everything, I swear the shippers just kind of died happily. This....actually MEANS something. I'm not sure what it means, but Jenna is basically Word of God and when you have your main actress saying that, there better be back-up in the show, AND THERE IS, and it's wonderful.

Steven Moffat is a genius.
It's the ultimate logic. When we get a relationship at face value on TV, it feels cheap. But when we know that it can't ever happen, we ship it more.
Screw it. I'm saying it now, 12 has become my Doctor.

It's intentional, but you have to have your brain on. I am dead convinced at this point that you really have to be willfully ignoring a good bulk of the show in order to not even maybe possibly kinda sorta be thinking "I think there is something between the Doctor and Clara". Considering how he has never played "father" to her (in the beginning especially, people loved claiming they'd have a father/daughter-type bond), how much of an equal-footing they have with one another, and how downright suggestive things have been the past few episodes, I don't think calling the relationship a "friendship" is quite adequate. The show called it an addiction, but when you think about it, isn't being in love with someone basically an addiction? I think yeah, the travel and the adventure is part of it, but for Clara, she has an addiction to him, and he definitely has an addiction to her.
I just think that there'd be a bit of moral outcry if they played the relationship a bit straighter. However, when even my dad is picking up on things, I know it's not just me being a stupidly hopeless fan.

Clara knows he's dangerous. Hell, she probaly loves that. We saw how bored she got with Danny so quickly. She craved the constant thrill of being close to death, you see that in Mummy of the Orient Express and Flatline.
This sounds a bit like a sexual overtone (Which isn't surprising. Moffat's Who episodes are filled with them) but it almost feels like a cat and mouse game between 12 and Clara for domination. 12 manipulates Clara into dangerous situations cause he's curious about her and how she'll react.
11 was so easily controllable with her feminine charms, and so was Danny but 12? He's a challenge. And I think she loves that.

Yeah, but honestly I see them being cat and mouse to each other. They so crave being "egotistical needy game players" that they are constantly going back and forth with who really has control in their relationship. "Do as your told" is what they say to each other, and while 12 may bring Clara into dangerous situations, Clara has him on such a leash (him popping up all the time at her flat/job) that I can't ever see one really dominating the other. :Va

Have you seen the old 2009 interview between the Late Night Host Craig Ferguson (was in a band with Peter Capaldi who was the lead singer while Craig was the drummer, back in 1960-70's Glasglow. He's also a huge Whovian)
