# About me
Ginger. Wanna-be artist, writer, and voice actor. Hardcore gamer. Somewhat of a perfectionist. Lover of fighter jets, bacon, ice cream, and a certain gun from an N64 game. Major procrastinator. Honest to a fault at times. Might come off as a blunt asshole at first, but can be pretty cool if we get to know each other a bit. Never goes out of the way to thank for a favorite or llama or whatever, but it is always appreciated.# Comments

No prob, as usual! I've been alright. Finished watching the series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, so until Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out, I'm kinda left with nothing to do... ._.
Did get around playing the Metro 2033 games, however. Think that might interest you, since they take place in Moscow (or the subway tunnels for the most part, anyway) after everything gets destroyed and radiated after World War 3. Gotta admit, I love the spookiness of both of the games. And the graphics and settings of both games are rather pretty, too, albeit in the "destroyed by nuclear war" sense.
How about you?

Ehehe, yup, I heard about "Metro", saw arts about it Post-apocalyptic world can be kind of beautiful and interesting to discover, I like that theme Although hopefully it will stay in games only
I'm quite ok, talking about spookiness, watched "The walking deads" I liked it, although I know some people say that zombies are not fast enough there and so on, but it is a good back to classic, like Romero did

Just came for...
Why do you like to speak Russian?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Klobb17 In reply to Blu-Oltremare [2014-11-01 03:44:27 +0000 UTC]
Bah, it's probably rude of me to not return all these virtual hugs, so...
As for speaking Russian... hard to say, really! After watching so many movies and playing so many video games where the bad guys would speak Russian all the time, I started to kinda like the language. About 2 years ago or so, I got really into it and started learning some of the more basic phrases online on my own time, although at this point I've honest forgotten all of them, with some exceptions like privet (hello), moi drug/droog (my friend) [I honestly learned that one from playing Splinter Cell: Conviction, really], cyka (bitch), chyort (damn)... yeah, I mostly remember the curses more than anything, heheh. I still have a bit of an interest in the language, but now, eh, just not as into it as I was a couple of years ago really.
Of course, I don't only have an interest in Russian as a foreign language. I know bits of Spanish from way back in high school still for example, as well as a little Italian thanks to Assassin's Creed. I also sometimes use Japanese words for the sake of annoying my friends. I'm by no means an expert in any language other than English, however, haha.

Blu-Oltremare In reply to Klobb17 [2014-11-02 00:19:55 +0000 UTC]
Ehehe, yeah, I know you don't like use emoticons, and that making these virtual hugs twice more enjoyable!
Funny that it is common practice for a lot of people - to know first of all curses in foreign language
Russian language can be really beautiful, although has a lot of hissing sounds, matter of using. I was to find out that you like it somehow, it's not common
Yes, in games and movies there is that type of bad Russian guys and those hehehe
I tried to learn Japanese, it was so interesting and fun to me at some point, but I gave to it only few monthes, didn't forse myself in that moment when you already know something, it becomes more clear and first curiosity slowly goes away... So, I quit and remember only some expressions too, enough to joke or make some mood when meeting friends in sushi-bar

Klobb17 In reply to Blu-Oltremare [2014-11-02 19:35:02 +0000 UTC]
Well I wouldn't say I don't like using emoticons. I just don't really bother using them period, mostly because I'm lazy. Whereas you practically use them in every sentence, heheheh
That's true, really. Almost every language I've taken an interest in, I attempted to learn the curses first, instead of something like greetings. I really can't explain why that is, heheh. I guess I just enjoy all the different ways I can jokingly insult a friend in a foreign language.
I haven't really bothered learning Japanese yet. Hell, the bits of it I do know were solely picked up from watching anime, mostly. One of these days though, I may focus on actually learning the language. I may not seem like it, but I really have an interest in foreign cultures and languages and that kind of stuff

My learning Japanese started from watching anime too Probably huge part of those, who's learning Japanese, starts thank to anime or manga I watched often that time and in some moment got really tired of reading subtitles, plus some words were known and I could understand, where ends previous word and begins next one
In general you never know when and why you decide to learn foreign language, it comes spontaneously, if it not in school

Klobb17 In reply to Blu-Oltremare [2014-11-04 10:46:25 +0000 UTC]
It seems like if you hear a foreign language enough times, be it through anime, video games, or whatever, it tends to grow on ya.
Who knew?
To be honest, I don't really mind subtitles in anime. Maybe I've just got used to reading them after watching so many shows without English dubs.
May as well ask, what's some of your favorite anime?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Blu-Oltremare In reply to Klobb17 [2014-11-04 11:58:10 +0000 UTC]
Of course
If I had to chose only one anime, I'd name "Hotarubi no mori e" (it's feature-length (almost, because it short) of the same director, who made "Natsume", same mood, but closer to me personally). With others it's difficult to say which ones I can call favourites... Of feature-length I like works of Hayao Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai, almost all watched. Some I can't call favourites at all, but they are great, like "Grave of the fireflies", I was shocked when watched that, emotions were mostly unpleasant, but very strong. Series I watched for different reasons, some are interesting because of drawing style, some for relax and laugh , some because of story, of course. Somehow first I remembered now was "Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad", "Devil may cry", "Bakuman" (although this one I watched only fisrt year)...
And what do you like?

Klobb17 In reply to Blu-Oltremare [2014-11-04 18:29:18 +0000 UTC]
I haven't seen too many feature-length anime movies, but I do recall seeing classics in the past like Spirited Away and... well, just that off the top of my head, really XD I know I've seen at least a couple other Miyazaki films. I did watch "Highlander: The Search for Vengeance" recently, however. It caught me off guard because it (an anime movie) is a better Highlander movie than most of the actual Highlander movie sequels. As for shows, "Angel Beats" is and will always be my top favorite, followed by "Vandread", "Chrome Shelled Regios", "Cowboy Bebop", and "Space Dandy", in that order. Not to mention classics that I love like "Dragon Ball Z", "Sailor Moon" (also that new series, "Sailor Moon Crystal", is pretty neat), "Fist of the North Star", "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex", "Gundam Wing", "Big O"... the list goes on, really! I've probably seen more anime than I care to admit. There is one in particular that stands out from the rest however, called "Now and Then, Here and There". It's a lot darker than most of my other favorites, which usually center around action or comedy more than dramatic story telling. It probably doesn't compare to "Grave of the Fireflies" (I've only heard about that one, unfortunately. Still have yet to see it, but I do want to), but I think it's up there in emotional impact.

Mhhh, I've heard about "Angel Beats" and "Cowboy Bebop" from friends, who watched but looks like I watched only Sailor Moon of these ones you named That old one serie and some of new. And with anime it is really impossible to name them all if you watch often, because you have to maintain a list of it, probably They also often have those funny names, or calls in original, and you remember only when someone remind you, what was there. Like comedy anime usually does. They have particular humour, but makes you I didn't watch anime for a quite long time, but thinking about to watch "Attak on Titan" maybe.

Shit, funny you should mention that, I completely forgot about one of my all-time favorites "Birdy the Mighty: Decode" Just shows that I need to watch it again!
I've watched several episodes of "Attack on Titan". It's alright, definitely has some great action sequences and an interesting story, but the pacing is kinda bad in my opinion. They tend to spend a lot of time hanging onto one particular conflict, or place, or person, etc., and I'm sitting there thinking "GET ON WITH IT ALREADY, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?". I think I'm at the 8th episode or so, and haven't picked it back up for at least a couple of months due to laziness. Maybe I should get back into it...
