Drakar are basically alien dragons with elastic looking skin and piercing blue eyes...also they don't have wings! But they do doll themselves up in some pretty bad-ass looking war paint...

Slower than I thought, I ended up having some work opportunities come up at the very last minute and where I went to stay for a few days had no computer access.
BUT I deprived myself of sleep last night and finished off the rest of the creature itself, just need to complete the slime which I'll try to get done tomorrow. I'll aim to send you a progress shot by the end of the night, then all I'll need to do is the background, specialised lighting effects to enhance the piece, general refining and any colour correction/tweaks you might suggest.

Obviously that is a MAJOR work in progress
And they won't be that steroided-up in the final piece, those muscles are just there to help me with shape and shading and stuff :L

Might make skitz' frill a little bigger too, but it's up to you...

Oh wow thats looking really neat so far . Tbh I imagined Skitz as fairly muscular, the idea was that he was originall a mountain dwelling creature so he'd need strong limbs to climb up and down practically vertical rock surfaces...I really like how you've made his charactar look quiet scary and monstrous (in a cool way) so he's like the kind of thing you'd expect to be a baddy in you're "Normal" fantasy story :L. Likin the background as well tis what the woods are supposed to be like - deep and globy looking Frill's size is fine XD. Would love to see you're progress as you work on this

Glad you like it ^^ It's a bit better than the other one, at least.
I'll probably make Skitz' legs larger so they're more in proportion with his torso...they could also do with being moved down more towards the base of his ribcage.
I always imagined the woods being really mossy and almost swampish ^^

Huge filesize XD Sorry I haven't made much progress since the last wip, but I'm still having to revise for my exams next week ect ect blah excuses. Plus I'm actually experimenting with making my own custom brushes for once, which is turning out to be really effective but quite time-consuming playing around with all the different settings to get the right effect.
But as you can see the moss doesn't look too bad as a result XD

Yeah I think its a lot better tbh he looks quiet bad ass in this . And yeah thats exactly how they are supposed to come across...don't want them to seem anythign too much like woods we actually have on earth but at the same time if they were similar it would be more like a hellish kind of rainforest that seems very sparsley populated to the naked eye...

And yeaht that seems just right for the forest. Feel free to put the occasional critter in in terms of say - some red glowing eyes in the distnace here or some really nasty poisonous looking alien spider there etc :L But thats small details and not uber importnat :L And yeah I think the wait will be worth it !

Well currently I'm uploading about a chapter a day, so Part 3 should be up in a couple of weeks maybe?
I've also gone back over the entire story and edited it slightly, so the beginning hopefully reads better now...the chapters concerning Vechk's Experiment are the most heavily edited, 'cause I wanted to explain the whole thing better...
And when Shrown's finished I'll upload my other fanfic too

Yeah I'm not doing too badly thanks (so glad my exams are over). I've been meaning to come on msn but it's broken AGAIN, and tbh I don't really like using fb...there are people on there I don't like talking to and they always get pissy when I don't reply :L

Yeah i have been ok thanks, lots has been going on, have also been very busy but am just getting back into writing the story. Have also commisioned Zha to work on a fairly epically sized A2 pic of a fight scene from the book (I wont spoil which) which we are constantly emailing eachother back and forth about to make corrections...its going to be a lot bigger and have a lot more charactars in it than anything else so far so we are working hard to get it right :L

Other than that just been up to things, mates, riding, want to get some more films up soon. Have had a bit of an emotional rollocoaster in the last 6 weeks but have since remembered the joys of distancing oneself from the world - so is all good

Do you have plans this summer?

Nah not really. I'm going to a heavy metal concert tomorrow...it's a charity thing to help out those severely wounded over in Iraq and stuff. Other than that I haven't really made many plans...
