# About me
Art is a big influence in my life, whether it be an appreciation of other peoples work, or producing my own.I have what I would describe as a very tactile approach. Portraying a personal handmade / home spun feel to my work. Getting away from the conformity and sterility of mechanized production. Which makes a lot of my work unique one off originals.
I prepare most of my own canvases using hessian for this, as I like the course open weave of the material. For framing I use a variety of woods hard, soft new or reclaimed.
Working in either oils or acrylics. I enjoy the control that I have with these mediums, and the different effects that you can achieve with them.
I like to think that my work portrays character and feeling and part of my own personality, which has been described as “Rustic” or in today's language “Shabby Chic !
