Please do not take other peoples art that has taken them many hours to create and post it on Nexus or anywhere else without permission... This is very wrong...
You are so obviously not an artist yourself and cannot feel the pain of having your creations misused and abused... You will be blacklisted for certain...
Above is my latest response on this Lea... dA needs to have a blacklist of these people, nothing in their galleries just collections of other artists...
I am not a Core member any longer and do not wish to be... Everything works fine without me paying out for membership... Β However do you know a Core member or any official who could request a black listing page for people who take others art and post it elsewhere? Β The list should be International I think so anyone can check it. I know user names are often changed, to be honest I can't remember who used to be whom...Β
Just my suggestion...

I understand completely.Β This is what happened back in 2009.Β I had gone to a forum and commented on having 12 images stolen by people at desktop nexus,Β and wanted to know if dA was going to do anything about it.Β I was actually ridiculed and then sworn at byΒ a couple of people.Β I was so angry I deleted all my art that I had up for prints and left.Β I decided then I would never pay for a subscription here again.Β Nor would I offer my art for prints to be sold from here again.Β I have bought points to help groups that I am in and support and also friends who do things that I think are kind to do for others.Β I plan on donating art to someone who has a shelter project going, (if I can figure out how to do that), but other than that, no.
No, I have no idea who to contact. As I said back in 2009 when I tried to find out, it didn't go well.Β I honestly don't feel that dA cares about the artists, just the money we can bring in for their site.Β Otherwise they would have already taken steps to protect the artists.Β Just my personal opinion.Β
I am just about ready to leave again, because there is at least 1 site that takes steps to protect their artist's work.Β That is the kind of site I want to belong to.Β

Yes Lea, Redbubble is much better, they add a transparent layer, so if anyone tries to take your image all they get is the transparent layer...Β
Someone has to sort it out, personally I cannot handle any stress, I have bad nerve damage and shake constantly, caused by cervical spondylosis which I have had for about 25 years...Β
I am not so bothered about my images being downloaded but I don't make any money from what I do, so I draw the line at anyone trying to sell my work...Β
Take care Lea... Catch up on Facebook if you leave here...

I have an account at Redbubble but just have not posted much there.Β I may need to go check into it again.Β I understand about the stress thing too.Β I don't make money from my art either.Β It would be nice to occasionally though.Β I will keep Facebook in mind if I do leave here but I may just lower the resolution of my renders but I really don't want to do that either.Β

Facebook actually lowers the resolution automatically. There are loads of us on Facebook and everyday I post my image to 10 pages and groups. I have a link to RedBubble which is far and away the best place to sell anything with the best security that I know of. I had an account with Society 6 however I bought one of my own Tshirts and it was abysmal, white bits showing all over, the front was printed at an angle, not correct at all, so I left in disgust. They gave me my money back and a Β£50 voucher which I passed on to a good friend who had helped me in the past... I have been with dA for 13 years, paid full membership for most of that time, then after a bit of research worked out that it was pretty much the same for free... No membership fees at all on RedBubble, they make money from sales, so they have to make the site work for artists to sell... In 13 years I didn't even sall Β£20 worth of products on dA. I don't sell much on RB but it is loads better. Nearly every day I get vouchers offering discounts too, so I have been able to but bits for myself. I got a wall tapestry that I use as a curtain, several prints and tote bags as presents for my friends... All affordable and very good quality... So I will still submit to dA with a link to RB. I do the same on Facebook... Works as well as can be expected...
My images are all high resolution...Β
Take care Lea...

I will have to go back and look at Redbubble again more closely.Β I had a print subscription to Fine Art America and really loved it there but the one thing that most of these places do is they want to automatically renew your subscription.Β I am almost 68.Β My mind doesn't work as well as it did when I was 20 or so and a year later, really?Β I am going to always remember that a year from a specific date I will have an automatic payment coming out.Β If they notified a person a month in advance that would be cool.
I knew they did automatically lower the resolution at Facebook, but IΒ am so sick of all the Kindergarten mentality at FB that it leaves a bad taste in my mind.Β So I make my visits there very short.Β Β Β Check for messages and then log out.Β
Yeah, I hear you on the hi resolution too.Β A lot of my flames that I post here are like 35 and 40 mg size and I render some of them as long as 20 hours.Β I get it.Β
You take care too, Roz.

I am 74 now Lea... Β Have you tried using Jux fractal software? I got it about 18 months ago and totally love it. Best ever from my point of view and it renders very fast, however that depends on your processor as it renders through that and not your graphics card. My images are all 300 dpi and about an average of 15 mg. that is big enough to use for everything on RedBubble, all the clothing, prints etc... It even does great quality duvet covers... Well worth further investigating for you and the security is good... They pay out every month on sales, through Paypal, so the money goes right into your bank account. Lots of dA people are there... See you there maybe... Xx

I used it a couple times but haven't in so long I will have to reacquaint myself with it.Β It is a 3.20 GHz quad core desktop.Β It is pretty fast.Β It renders in 4 hours a flame in jwf that used to take 20 to render in, but sometimes I still render really long and large.Β I will check out Redbbubble again and see.Β Thanks so much, Roz
