...It has porn...you can't comment...people on tumblr only care about porn pics and press the like button on them instead of liking normal pics...the site is super hard, you need an app for it to work on the phone. Yeah....it's sad.

dA has PLENTY of (softcore)porn. Β On tumblr, you only see it if you follow people who post it. Β Otherwise, the only way you'll ever see it is you actively look for it. Β It even allows you to browse in "safe" mode, which doesn't display result from any blog marked as NSFW. Β It's also possible to get the very nifty extension called xkit which allows you to create a blacklist, and not see at all the things you don't want to see (granted that it is tagged, but people are usually careful about it, and understanding when being told to add/change a tag if they've forgotten.)
I never had trouble understanding the site and I've been using it for years, for multiple blogs with different subject matters. Β The app isn't required for browsing but, which is true with most websites, apps make it only easier.
Replying is also possible in multiple ways. Β Some types of post allow replies, but for others, it's very simple to reblog the post to comment on it, and sending an ask(tumblr's equivalent to a note) is as simple as clicking a link.
But seriously, judging people based on the websites they use is really unfair. Β If people were to assume things about you based on things like that, I am pretty sure that you wouldn't appreciate it.
