Hi I was wondering if I could put you on watch? I generally like to ask people before I do so. Your really good! and clearly a Jim Henson fan as well! I absolutely love your picture of the castle!Β

YOU...are now watching ME???Β

I am HONORED!!!!
Thank you!! Having such an amazing artist as watcher is way more than I deserve!

AH! I managed to finally watch all the short film contest entries!!!Β

Here comes a silly anecdote that's worth being told:

I was watching the "reprisal of the Dark Crystal" and I literally jumped off my seat "THAT is Laszlo's crystal castle!! I AM SURE!!!" Β To which my poor cat almost dies on a heart attack, and my mother remained blank and astonished "What?...it...it IS?..How can you tell?"
And I went "BECAUSE I KNOW!!! I'D RECOGNIZE HIS SCULPTED WORK AMONG A MILLION OTHERS"...and then at the panning of the garthim " GAAAHHH AND TAHT'S A BMAC PAINT!!!"
*This last was hollered raucously, and I believe my neighbors may have thought Β I had brought a crazed raven ito my house and give it a speaker to yell through by how it sounded*

I LOVED seeing you in the credits!!! AND bmac too XDΒ

LOL thank you! Im glad you recognised my work!Β
And I love the paintings of Mac Smith too. I think he did the best DC fan art so far.Β
You have a cat? Whats his name? Fizzgig? Β
And of course Im watching you! You are such a BIG fan... and your output is amazing!Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SkekLa In reply to Skulpturen [2016-05-16 15:29:31 +0000 UTC]

I couldn't not recognize it!
Your hand, even when accurte at details, seems to put a "seal" to each thin you do giving it a recognizeable style: each of your things is clearly YOURS! ^^
MacSmith has possibly either the BET or at leat some of the finest TDC fan- artworks I've ever seen, and I've seen REALLY MANY...

HAHAHA My cat...oh that rascal...It's actually a female, and her name's Pixy...why, she is indeed just like an ancient folk "pixy": she steals me small parts from work materials or tiny tools, cutouts for fairy wings etc, and stores them in a random place (usually under my bed or couch)...I ted to discover the bounties fast of course and she is ever frustrated. Poor thing XD
Either way she's a furball...Hmmm...Fizzgig wouldn't have been a bad name!

D'AWW...THANK YOU!!!
I feel flattered to know you think my additions to the Dark Crystal universe are good and worthy!
I truly never believed they could be, before I met other dear fans, and then you too! ^^
If someone of your love for TDC and your artistic quality believes my things are good, I must be doing somethig right! ^^
And that truly fills me with joy!!!

LOL cute cats... we had 2 of them. Beautiful animals.Β
But now I want a red fox. I realized they are even more soft. And of course more intelligent. And somehow they remind me of Sir Didymus and Fizzgig, LOL.Β
Thanks again, Laszlo

SkekLa In reply to Skulpturen [2016-05-17 14:14:54 +0000 UTC]

Beautiful, clever and lordly indeed...XD It always makes me laugh how dignifying my cat acts...she truly seems to think I at her service!
In a cute furball who measures as tall as barely up my ankles, I can't but find that hilarious!!! ^^

RED FOX!!!!!!!!!
We don't even have them on my side of the land... u.u
We have only grey foxes, or tawny ones, far in te countryside! But since I live in the capital city, no critter (with salve exception of pigeons of course and the usual bizarre mouse) are virtually nonexistant.
Sad but true...Β

Red foxes indeed do look a lot like Sis didymus!!!!
And fizzgig, a bit, when they curl up to sleep XD

Here there are some red foxes... but I never see them They are shy... and you also have to look for them at the right time. Early in the morning or so.Β
But as pets they are forbidden here LOL Anyway I will need a big garden, should I ever have one.
A real Didymus... one can dream... Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SkekLa In reply to Skulpturen [2016-05-20 14:57:47 +0000 UTC]

D'AW!
Indeed foxes ae shy animals...our grey foxes tend to keep away from people too, down in the countryside. They do well tho, some of our people is sadly rather destructive to animals. Pfff.

It must be awesome to have red foxes as neighbors, so if you wake early enough you can see them scurry about...ADORABLE.

It's logical tho anyone would want one!*I would, too...*...I assume authorities are striving to preserve the species and see them grow in numers on their natural habitat?... o.o

Big garden or earthy, natural yard is a must with such creature running around..they would maybe abandon their den to stay "in" on a doghouse or a basket...yet...they'll sure want to dig, scatter leaves, hunt for mice Β and play around to a point...so yep, the yard would be a must.

a REAL DIDYMUS....
Hehehe he was my favorite puppet from Labyrynth, along wih the fireys! ^^<3
Hoggle and Ludo are amazing, and te goblins are too...but Didymus has a special charm to him!

Yes, here they shoot foxes... they think they must control the numbers. Stupid hunters. I always say there is too much humans... so why not shoot people as well ? LOL
My fave from LAB is Hoggle. Maybe because he is the most complex, technically and as a character.
Also the DC hints... of course.
I do love the others too. The Fireys remind me of the Skeksis. A furry young kind of Skeksis if you will.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SkekLa In reply to Skulpturen [2016-05-21 14:17:45 +0000 UTC]

UGH!...That is sadly usual in developed countries...people think they must "control" nature when all they do is unballance the order of things more and more. pfff.
WELL ASKED!
That's my usual sort of response whenever someone says something among the lines of "DURH, There's too many sparrows in this city, they make the roofs and cars filthy with their excrement, why don't they declare them plague and kill them?"
I SWEAR that has been attempted here. By an "angry neighbor" council. Bunch of morons...Β  Β
We BARELY have animals here in Buenos Aires, and all they can think of when they see some is "GAH, KILL IT WITH FIRE!"

Hoggle!!! Indeed he has a complete set of emotional and psychological traits as charater, and as animatronic he is...PFFF JUST INCREDIBLE!
His level of detail as sculpt, too, is admirable!

Hehehe yeah, to me too! In fact, I suspect the skeksis would have looked a bit like them while younger, though earless and possibly less furry and more reptilian/avian in matters of textures and skin/coating...In terms of general shapes I tend to see the just-split skeksis rather fiery-like! As my charts of Youg skeksis colors show : thin waists, round bellies, long limbs, fur/feather and quill "cloak" on their backs (in fact that's more porcupinish...hmm..."Hans my Hedgehog " influence?...I sure LOVED that story...) , manes on the head and that agile, vibrant look as the fiery's get!
I hope that paragraph wasn't too confusing hehe...I am messy at explaining myself sometimes! ^^

Your sculpture is fantastic.
It's amazing how the film Labyrinth affects so many people. It's so iconic.
If it had not been for that film, I might never have become a mask-maker.

Hi Laszlo!

Just found your Labyrinth characters diorama and got really impressed.
We are huge fans of Henson's films & Muppets, and also the owners of a little comics-miniatures shop in The Canary Islands (Spain). I think I can assure your sculptures are the most beautiful and accurate I've seen in a long time. We're still stunned with the Skeksis Castle, ha ha. I feel thankful for your "fan art" contribution!

We've also enjoyed your website, you've got very nice drawings, specially those made with ball pen.
Also a super-cute cat, I must say...

We'll be back checking for news, it's been a pleasure to find your art stuff!

Regards,

Jessie & George
