Haha! ^^It is true, though. I was drawing mostly Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, Peach Girl, and Kodocha fanart and styles, but the principles are the same. I got more into realism around 16-17 though, which is what I've been working on since. Always remember that nobody comes out of the womb knowing how to draw. It's a process of learning and refining...FOREVER! XD That's meant to be encouraging, haha!

Yeah. I got what you meant XD. It's what my mother always says whenever I say "I wish I could draw like that." The fact that you said what you did really made me believe that though. I'm going to try to really apply myself whilst drawing (not like I haven't been but you get it). I really appreciate you saying that.

It's all in the practice, and what you learn as you go. I hate to say that studying art theory is what can sometimes make a difference, but it is true. I learned a lot even here on dA looking at tutorials (I have a whole favorites section for them for a reason, hehe!). And then it's really just practice, practice, practice. I'm 27 now, so in 14 years, I've grown a LOT as an artist. But at 13, that's where I was, and those are the things I liked to draw and learn from. That's why it's so nostalgic to see--it's a reminder of where I've come from and where I've gotten to. ^^

I'm planning on going to an art school when I'm older for college. Even before then I'm gonna try to study art theory! I've always been interested in it (seeing how my mother is absolutely fantastic at drawing and art in general) so why not study up on it! Also, I too use a lot of tutorials. In fact that's mostly where my art came from. Well that and my imagination. (-v-) Honestly, this entire conversation has boosted my confidence in my drawings and the future of my art. I don't know how many times I've said it (if I even have) but thank you a TON!
