i was just thinking too... sometimes people aren't really careful with their choice of words...and aren't trying to be insensitive...sometimes they are though. so i don't know. this is just a possibility but maybe when they said they didn't like your art, they meant they don't like the genre...like anime...or flowers or something. its possible they are just mean to you too. i don't know them personally so it's hard to say. sometimes people overlook potential because they aren't interested in the same thing too, or they just don't have a appreciation for aesthetics and technical skills. i think the best way to solve the problems would be to talk to them directly though, just use your best judgement, and don't let em' bully you around.

Haha actually, it's not because they don't like my genre, it's because they think that art in general is a waste of time, for example I use to play the saxaphone a lot, but then I had to give up on that because my parents hated me playing a musical intrument and they would rather have me spend time on Math and Science.

okay...i don't know where your from...but i remember you telling me your brother is in the states...meaning you are not. i know some places have extremely different cultures than here. but like here...thats considered pretty messed up, and selfish to say the least. my parents aren't exactly supportive about what i want to do either...but i don't care. im going to do it anyhow. i would rather fail at what i like to do than never try.

Yes...Haha I live in Canada, my brother is in engineering, but my mother had wanted him to be a lawyer, but he went against that and went to live in the states with his girlfriend. Haha I wish I could be like him, i really admire him for what he did and wish I had the guts to even do that. Just that it's not like me, I'm a pretty obedient child, if you knew me (not to be bragging, but if you were to ask anyone to knew me they would say that I'm a bit too nice -_-"). But yeah, I don't mind becoming a doctor, it's a good job plus I love working with people, especially working with children. Meh...whatever I'll decide soon enough...Hehe....-_-"

Haha Trust me I have, I worked with my uncle over the summer in a Dental Technician Laboratory, and helped the Lab out by drawing teeth for them, and I have talked to my Mom about it, and she said that anythign to do with art, wasn't considered to be a career. You know that my mother is very traditional so the only careers that actually are avalible in life are, nurse, doctor, dentist, lawyer, and doctor -_-" That's it!!!!! but I sort of want to be a Pediatrician...so I don't exaclty know yet, I'll decide soon enough....hopefully...hehe...
