I didn't think looking at pictures of the smudge guard glove on google would bring me to the page of someone who worked on TF prime, but hoooh, very nice character designs in general on here man, really inspiring stuff! Also loving the orthos of the TFP characters! Rarely does one get to see such clear design work behind a show.

The only new Autobot we have this season is Ultra Magnus which I designed by the way, I'll be posting some UM designs on the deviant page or my blog so keep a lookout. Thanks for your support and I hope you like the rest of season 3.

Great question. As a designer, I would probably explore all sorts of design treatments and since I had Astrotrain as a child, I might even take inspiration from him. As long as the silhouette looks great, your probably headed in the direction. Good luck, I'd love to see the design when you're done!

I've discovered I'm far better at writing Transformers than drawing them, so I'd need to do a lot of practice. But I do have a lot of the design done in my head; it's drawing it that's the hard part.
I have been studying the designs for the movie and prime characters, since they've been showing that one doesn't have to sacrifice complexity for character. I actually wish Railspike/Astrotrain (depending on the faction) had made it, since we so rarely get Train transformers in the shows.
