The sky had a polarizer on it, to bring out the colors stronger, but i darkened it a bit more in photoshop, but the polarizer helped a great, great deal -- nice spot

Hey man, you deserved it - I know you didn't intend half that stuff I observed, but at some point, you made the smart decision to STOP fooling with it because it had achieved something successful to YOU. What I did was just write about everything that seemed successful about it to ME. I took one look at that thumbnail and was totally hooked by the simple perfection of it, and all the things it could mean.
And by your title, I didn't feel like I was entirely off-base, to see futility rendered there...
As for

you're uncannily on target. That image is actually the second component of three in a major New Year's project I'm working on (the first part is posted too), and it will all hinge on that expression. I took over a hundred photos of Robin in that shoot, looking for exactly THAT face, because I knew what I wanted to do with it.
I wasn't going to release it by itself, because I didn't think it stood on its own very well, but a friend of mine liked that tilted horizon, and we decided it was a worthy composition of its own. And since most people will see her as joyous, the "New Year" theme potentially works. For the moment.
But you have seen the hidden truth...
