Ohhhhh, then delayed happy b'day I saw it here and I think I've mistaken ur devianart birthday with ur real birthday I'm sorry

Anyways, did u have fun? How did u celebrate it? How old were u turning?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gintan In reply to BloodStainedSakura [2010-09-01 08:50:10 +0000 UTC]

How old..well I do feel old..but if you really wanna know, I turned 21 =]. Didn't really do much except the usual adventure-- you know, party, party and more party..oh and a bit of gambling as well as drinking. XD It was fun, though it wasn't anything I haven't done before.

I didn't even notice that they've sent deviant bday updates nor did I realize how long I've been here. O_O ..yeah...I really need to pay more attention. ><

Ohhhh, then how should I have to feel? I mean, I'm 26, and I don't feel old at all I still do more or less the same I did when I was 20-21

And that sounds like a great plan But, what do u mean by gambling? Did u play to poker or something like that? Do u mean u do gambling every time u go out?

Neither did I

gintan In reply to BloodStainedSakura [2010-09-02 01:57:38 +0000 UTC]

I'm not really sure. I guess I feel this way cuz I have the tendency to compare teens of my era with the current teens. It just all seems so different, yet slightly the same.

Gambling...well I don't play tables. Its more like slots. I go to the casino pretty often, but I'm not an addict XD I don't like losing money either, but I think I've been influenced by my parents that my control has gone to shit. LOL

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BloodStainedSakura In reply to gintan [2010-09-02 13:08:41 +0000 UTC]

Of your era?LOL, although I get what u mean

Ohhh,I've never played to those kind of games Do u spend a lot of money on the slots? Did ur parents take u to the casino when u were younger?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gintan In reply to BloodStainedSakura [2010-09-03 10:09:12 +0000 UTC]

alot of money...hahaha perhaps. But, not to the point of being entirely broke. LOL and yesh..my parents did take me there often as a child. I may not have played before, but I knew what those machines were.

era..u see! I'm using words that seem weird...I gotta stop reading old books and fantasy ><

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BloodStainedSakura In reply to gintan [2010-09-05 22:21:45 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh, I see. Well, everyone is free to spend their money as they want to ^^. Woahhh, your parents are sure very different from the average ones

Ohhh, so u like reading? I'm sorry but I'm so excited to have found someone who loves reading that I can't help it Well, it's kinda weird, considering I'm older than u. I guess u could say "generation" instead of "era"
So what kind of books do u like to read? What was the last one u've read? Btw, I'm into science-fiction and fantasy novels too. One of my faves authors is Anne Rice. I just love how that woman writes

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gintan In reply to BloodStainedSakura [2010-09-06 01:57:35 +0000 UTC]

hehee..u read too??! That's so awesome XD LOL I know how you feel, it's not so often that I find people who are into fantasy or novels in general...makes me sad really. My friends know I'm into all that, but they don't really know what to say besides, "I don't read..you know that, or I don't like fantasy, it's just not my thing." ..those kind of responses kinda hurt. LOL Ah well..that's basically the same way they react to my "addiction" to anime/manga (though I'm not one of those freaky anime fans). haha

Anyways, I haven't been able to read much lately cuz of school, but I like George Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire Series." The story is pretty good, but the amount of characters may be too much for some. Oh! I'm trying to read some of Salvatore's books..hopefully I'll have time for that. hmm the last book I read, I think it was "The Magicians" by Grossman. During the summer, I spent a lot time reading young adult/children books. I don't know why, but I enjoy reading them. Perhaps, you've heard of them... "Alex Rider, Percy Jackson, Darren Shan, Artemis Fowl, Bartimaeus"..stuff like that. But, I have been trying to read the heavier stuff such as Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrel by Susanne Clark, The Book of Lost things by John Connolly, and The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky. XD As u can see..my range is pretty wide, but I generally lean towards action, fantasy and adventure novels. I would read romance, but it has to be good romance..none of that twilight stuff..ugh..dont get me wrong, it's romantic in the sense that they LOVE each other, but why is it so popular? Are u fan? I've tried reading it just to see what the hype is all the about...so yeah...what was the last one u've read?? What other books do u like?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BloodStainedSakura In reply to gintan [2010-09-06 14:38:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know how u feel as I feel the same way. All of my life I've been called a know-it-all and all because I like reading novels, sometimes as an entertainment, and sometimes because I was just curious about a particular topic. I think my biggest achievement had been to introduce my best friend into the wonderful world of books At first she wasn't too sure as she even didn't know what kind of books did she like to read, and because it takes time to read a book and to get used to it, as a habit, and I think the longest book she read had 300 pages
And yeah, once I showed her a manga book, actually it was a fruit basket volume ^^. If u have read any of them, u'll know it says the stories aren't real or something like that. Well, she just read that and she decided it wasn't worth her time to read it And well, I think I'll remember the time I told her I like watching anime for all my life, as she asked me if I watched Pokemon And I was like "Oh,God, doesn't she know there're a lot of different kind of animes and that some of them aren't for kids?" Actually after thinking that I told that to her, as I thought she was being simple-minded, because it's like if someone tells u "I love watching TV" and u ask him/her "Ohhhh,do u watch Big Brother?..." There're a lot of channels on the TV and a lot of programs apart from that shit( and sorry if u like watching it, but I just can't stand it, as well as the programs that have come after that)And don't worry, I'm a normal anime&manga freak

Hmmmmmm,I've heard a lot about that book Is it interesting? What's about? Hmmm, I'd never heard of Salvatore's books Could u tell me more about them? Yeah, I like reading adult/teen books too but hey! I think u should read the book u like,no matter who is for(adults, kids, fangirls, princess, emos, teens, etc)I just hate labels And I'm sorry but I haven't heard about "The Magicians" by Grossman, actually I haven't heard of the author Isn't there a movie called" Percy Jackson and...."? Ohhh, I see, I read some 19th europe literature like, hmmmmmm, 5 years and I find some of the works very asuming, such as Edgar Allan Poe, so I may read some of his books/stories ^^. My range is pretty range too, as I like all kind of books, as long as they're interesting. I think my fave authors are: Stephen King, Robin Cook, Anne Rice and Kent Follen. Anyway, if u wanna know which books I've read, here it's a link:[link] Now that I've been looking at them, I've realized I haven't read so many, that or I don't remember half of the books I've read If u have any recommendation I'd love to hear it, or well, read it in this case

And oh, the last ones I've read were "Wake" by Lisa McMann and "Hello darling, are you working" by Rupert Everett.

About Twilight, well, I read all the books before all that hysteria started, and I liked them, I mean, they're not a Anne Rice's level but hey, they're enternaining ^^

gintan In reply to BloodStainedSakura [2010-09-07 04:14:41 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I've ever seen Big Brother. I've heard of it, but that's all. I don't know anything about it. Though, I could probably guess what it's all about. If it's name means anything..then yeah I guess it would be "shit" LOL However, I do like watching Jersey Shore and Bad Girls House..I don't watch them voluntarily though. XD My sis just happens to watch tv in my room whenever she's home. In fact, my tv is always turned off. I only use it when I want to watch a DVD or play games. Anyways, I do get what you're saying...it's hard to pull someone into your interests, or rather change their opinion. Still, I've learned that if they don't like it then they won't..either let it be, or convince them. Reading, to most people, isn't fun. But, it's never wrong to try ^^

Song of Ice and Fire series is about noble and royal families fighting for their region or throne. The characters are human, but as the story progresses you'll see various forms of mystical beings and races that were known to be extinct. It's mostly focused on the actions of one family, but the author uses the view of several other characters. The story itself is full of twists, drama and mystery. As for Salvatore's books, I've barely dented the first few pages, but he has several stories on the shelf such as the DemonWars Saga,Forgotten Realms Series, and The Hunters Blades Trilogy. I just started the Transition Series, so I can't really tell you much about it. I luv teen books..like really LOVE them LOL The ones I listed earlier were what I'd recommend hahaha.Though, I noticed that you've read "Mortal Instruments" I've been meaning to get the books, but I haven't had time to. I will eventually. Lord of the Rings, yeah I have it on hand, but no time to pick it up. I've only read the Hobbit. I haven't read any Stephen King books...people have recommended them though. "The Magicians" isn't very well known. It's an international Best Seller, but the style and pacing may not be appealing to some people. Yesh, there is a movie called "Percy Jackson" as well as "Darren Shan" but as a book reader, I have many critics about those movies. ..As for European Literature...uhh well I've read Dante's Divine Comedy, Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, Chesterton's Mr. Blue and Orthodoxy, Shakespeare, Conan Doyle, and a bunch of others that I don't remember. ><

Hmm I've never read those books, but I have heard of Rupert Everett.

Twilight..honestly, I thought they were interesting. I never got pass book 2, but that's probably cuz I kinda know what's going to happen..with all the spoiler's going around it's kinda hard to not know. Still, the romance is cute, I just wish it weren't that predictable. I don't know. I mean, I had the books on my shelf before the movies came out, and I was too lazy to read them. I think the hype of the movies suck out all the fun. Gah really..I should be happy that the movies were pretty good adaptations.

Anne Rice..I don't know why that name sounds so familiar..I think someone has tried to get me into them. hmmm...maybe I'll check it out sometime..XD

Ohhh, I watched its first programm just to see what it was, but after a couple of days, I ended up fed up of the same ppl, fighting and fucking between them all the time

About the book thingy, yeah I'm agree with u, and I've only try to introduce her to the book world my best friend, seeing how succesful it was Now I just pretend I don't like reading novels till I find someone like u, who likes reading, then, I just....go crazy I know it's sad, very sad, but it's how things work in the world we live in

It seems like an interesting book and I'd really like to read it, but I don't know if I can find it here, in Spain. I think u can only buy it over there, but don't worry, I'll do a search on google to find it out ^^.

As for the "Mortal Instruments" series, yeah, I started reading the first book and it was such a good story that it left wanting to know what was going to happen next, so I ended up buying all the books And, to be honest, I don't regret it, because it was worth the money

With respect to the Lord of the Rings, to tell u the truth, I was reading its last book: the Return of the King, when the last movie opened so I only read it till the half of the book, more than anything because of the damn spoilers

Hmmm, I may give a try to Percy Jackson, but I don't know, the movie was so....stupid and simple, that I guess it just gave me out

I didn't know he was a writer till I saw this book on the libray It seems interesting so I picked it up, and I have to say that it worths the time, as it's one of the most hilarious novels about the homosexual topic I've ever read ^^. Besides, it's so short and I think u could read it at much in 2 days, if u read, as I do, only when u're about to go to bed

Do u think so? I still prefer the books over the movies. I think I've only watched the first one In the books u can see the complexity of the characters, in the movies u only see cute and hot guys&girls, if u know what I mean. But I think it happens the same with all the movies based on books

Well, if u love vampire stories, u should read some of her books, as she's the best of the best in this topic, or at least that's what I think. Just the way she writes, the way she introduces the reader to the characters, it's like u were there, if u know what I mean
