Reaching out to say hi... so "HI!" Hopefully moving went well and you haven't lost your marbles.

Hi back.  My marbles are cracked and scattered...but I never had that many anyway.    We are fine.  Thanks for asking.  How are you?

AuroraMoonfire In reply to illmatar [2020-02-16 04:03:45 +0000 UTC]

Doing fine! My writing, when I have time for it, bounces back and forth between writing what I normally do which is poetry and writing other things that probably will never see the light of day. But I feel like I am creating nonetheless which is something!

Good to hear moving went well. Moving is stressful whether its across town or to another state (I've done both!). I just wanted to check up on one of my favorite transformers authors to see if you're still alive and kicking!

You still hanging in there? I've managed to write a little bit each day for awhile now. Nothing is being written in a linear fashion still. Feels like putting together a 1,000 piece puzzle without knowing the full picture. Poetry has always been easier for me. I may at some point pick your brain over a few ideas of mine. Hopefully your back has improved and no other body systems have given you more trouble.

I guess. At the hospital for scheduled back surgery...been here for 8 hrs ..no food since midnight. Surgery is held back for some emergency for hours now. Must be bad. Sorry for whomever it is but alsoHUNGRY!

Holy shit balls girl! I hope you made it through surgery okay. Hopefully now you won't be in such pain. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? What did they do to you?

I'm not ready for any brain picking just yet and will certainly wait until you are ready. Actually talking about some of the ideas I have are a little embarrassing but I figured you'd get it cause **gestures at Maelstrom**. The only other person I would have bounced ideas off of turned out to be psycho.

Sending healing your way!

I'm going to be indestructible at this rate.  It went well...recouping is hard though.  On top of that my mom-in-law is moving inwith us - she lost her ability to work unexpectedly so we weren't ready.  Now we are building a new home we can all fit in, but we have to get her house ready and sold...then ours ready and sold all by June.  She's been in her place almost 40 yrs...and I can't lift anything.  Sort of terrifying actually.

Heh..having a person who "gets it" around is most helpful.  I married mine so he couldn't escape.

Let me know if I can help in any way. I realize I can't do much but I can listen if you need to talk or vent. That can be done on here or I can PM you my number.

Also willing to send care packages of chocolate and wine through the mail!

Sending magick in your direction that everything goes smoothly (healing, transition, moving, building, all of it). ((HUGS))

I take deposits of kindness as being very helpful, so you are awesome in that regard.  Sorry, as usual, about the slow response.  I'm here often enough but I just can't seem to type without a full day of rest ahead of it.

Heh...we have enough chocolate and alas, I am not a drinker.  Thanks for the offer though, and the magick.  So far, we're doing OK.  Waiting for the shit to hit when we put this house up.

Actually I've missed 2 weeks of school because my back has decided to go insane.  The disk between my last 2 vertebrae has disintegrated and they are crushing the nerves to my leg.  So much fun.  My new knee is AWESOME but something else just HAD to throw me down again.  It is very frustrating.  In any case I accept your apology and hope you will forgive me too for not getting back sooner.  I don't have an "two new babies" excuse though...I've been here, but slacking.

Guess who will be in Florida for work next week? Me! Long story short, rumors were that we would go to Georgia, so instead of looking at my flight information that was printed in January I just went with Atlanta. Well, I look and I'm going to Orlando As little as I get out I didn't care where I was going because it's a free trip somewhere outside of the Pacific Northwest. Only thing I'm unhappy is that we are going to a park I could care less about and some are banning.

I have been a bit preoccupied!  I burned the living crap out of my feet by dropping boiling hot soup on the floor!  Lovely ER visit and all.  Noting you phone number in case  you are still around.

How did you last the horrible weather there? I had to look for Myakka Park to see where you were compared to Matthew's path. I would believe you felt some of it. My old manager lives in Miami and since she couldn't take her pups to a shelter when they evacuated her husband stayed behind. He sent her photo updates and she kept us updated and her whole family made it through thankfully.

We had a bit of wind, that's all.  People forget that the cloud cover from these storms spreads hundreds of miles past the high-damage area which is close to the eye.  They didn't even shut schools down in my area.

Your friend needs to talk to their vet.  MGM's work serves as a shelter for critters during storms.  They just need proof of vaccinations.  After Katrina, more human shelters are taking pets too.

That is good to hear! I took the weekend off expecting Typhoon Songda to hit harder, but it hit 40 miles off major catastrophe so we just got tons of rain. I am sure if I worked it would have hit harder. Simon enjoyed watching the little wind gusts rattle the leaves from the couch.

Trooper's carrier was a soft carrier which he was buried in, so I have to still get Simon a kitty carrier for travel and emergencies.

Make sure you get on that is "airline approved."  If you ever (heaven forbid) need to evac to a shelter of some kind, those are the only only they will accept.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maddog78 In reply to illmatar [2016-10-30 22:07:20 +0000 UTC]

Good thinking! Trooper's is not airline approved but it works for vet trips for right now. Trooper liked the fabric carrier over the conventional and when he had 3 at minimum trips to the vet annually he got the final say.

Heh...he was good.    Mine are not.  Another benefit:   All 3 of our current babies feel it important to wet themselves the minute they suspect a vet visit.  8/  We there fore put a piddle pad down in the bottom every time - but I am still grateful nothing can leak into my car!
