Thank you for posting all of this here. I am a photographer whose work also leans toward the dark side of things, although I try to see the beauty in darkness. What we do is not for everyone, but it is nice to see that I have a fellow and am not alone. Would I be correct in assuming that your work is influenced by Joel Peter Witkin?

So the other week I turned 50. You were a few months older than me but always the photos of you, taken by you, people thought were of me. We were a meeting of minds, my mother said before she met you. And you did take photos of me, that time many years ago when we ran through the hallways of the old convent. And the nights we sat and laughed over red wine and pasta you made. Our time in Sydney, drunk at lunch on cheap sangria, riding the carousel at Luna Park. Walking through Waverley cemetery, the one by the sea you always wanted to visit. The trip to the kangaroos, and standing by the sea. I remember the last time I saw you, I won’t share that. You started to fade after that trip. Like it was a goodbye, you came and went. The sporadic emails then the silence. From me the mad searching and checking with friends. Then you came back, and we chatted more like it was all ok. I got busy, you had high hopes, and they were dashed....and then you were gone. A kind soul messaged me. Have you heard about Lauren? I know the answer from the question asked. I was shocked, but not surprised. I always miss you, and will always love you.

I was thinking about you today, and showing your work to another photographer. I had to come back and look through your work again. I see you removed some of your images before you left us. And that's OK. I continue to admire your work. I miss you. The world misses you.

The world didn't deserve you.
I wish you were still here, as alive
as your work that haunts me
and makes me shudder
at your genius and pain.

If only these words left for you would ring out true.. resonate into the afterworld. We miss you. We come here to seek your talent, your mystery, your symbolism. We come here to reach out to your ghosts you left behind. I come here to lament the loss of a master artist that deigned to take time to respond, and make some sort of a feeble friendship through these digital threads. I'll never forget your work, or the little snippets of truth you shared with us. Visual poetry, artwork of the highest caliber... no one will ever compare.

I've loved following your work all these years. Thank you for sharing it with us, and for creating it in the first place. I will miss you and all the artwork that might have been. I hope your next adventure in the universe is a bit more quiet than this one was.
Love.

I wish I knew about this amazing artist when she was alive. I read the message, with the thought that she was still here, still alive. Then I learned that she was dead. It reminds me of a Poem, Enter This Deserted House by Shel Silverstein. Find it and read it. It is the last lines, "...And my child, I thought you knew I dwell here… and so do you...", that are the resin I say this.
She captured herself, both of her at the time she made them, and now. I think she is still in that house, dancing to a phonograph's music, or typing on a type-writer, or a number of other things.
She is gone, but may all hell brake lose and evil take both heaven and earth before even one person forgets her.

Wow, it really saddens me that I discovered this beautiful woman's art after her ver ysad passing. A true legend, a tormented soul, through her photography, which is so haunting and beautiful, absolutely inspiring, she will live on. Also, she must have been one amazing individual; her favorite band was Bauhaus, the best band ever. ♥ God Bless her family, and her spirit as it flutters on to another world unseen to us stuck here.
