I find your page because of the "Manga background stock" - Thanks to you for putting them out there, I think you are the only one to do that!
It's a very good idea.

I appreciate that.Β Glad they can be of use.
I've submitted a 45 page One-shot for Shonen International Manga competition, and if it doesn't get into the finalists' selection, I will put it up on DA and give away more backgrounds.
I'm also working on another piece for Xenon Manga competition... Again, if it doesn't become a finalist, I'll put up the backgrounds for free stock use.
Do you make your own comic/manga? Would definitely like to read them.

I'm not there yet for drawing my own manga (there are some many rules to follow to do it properly)
but I want to give a shot at background drawing in the future (and will put them as Stock / sharing is caring)
Inspired by you and this www.youtube.com/watch?v=smucsQβ¦
Although I commissioned a Manga artist for this piece fav.me/d5slgjd - I liked her version a lot
that was my original "version" fav.me/d5nepho I asked to remake.
I've read "promised Tree" this morning, very well done - both on the story and drawingΒ - congrats!

Thanks so much for your compliment on 'Promise Tree'. It's an experimental piece where I'm trying out all sorts of styles and technique so there's a lot of inconsistencies - but that's how I got learning, so don't worry too much about the rules. I started without knowing them and learn along the way. I mean, the last competition piece (Shonen) I got the drawing dimensions wrong and I'm still waiting for the results but I may well have been disqualified for all I know.
I found out about the mistake after finishing page 26, was so damn close to giving up. But I decided to push on and finish it anyway, and I'm glad I did because it taught me a lot about what becoming a manga artist is gonna be like, what my work speed is, where I'm weak at, which medium I'm good at, all sorts of things. You just gotta laugh and move on. Enter competitions.
You know, your original style of drawing is very original and I think you can work with that, I prefer your piece rather than the mangaka version's, and you will develop it over time. I started out trying to draw realistically and I'm still trying to find my style. I realized drawing in realism as a goal isn't worth pursuing as much as having your own style. Keep at yours and it will become great.
