# About me
I am alive.prompt journal linkage!
I have decided that thanking people or favoriting/watching and being thanked for favoriting/watching is ridiculous and a waste of time and therefore I am now going to be, by dA definition that I've followed for 7 years, disrespectful and I very much encourage you to do the same! Especially with all the people who favorite just for the pageview! Let it be known that I'm still quite thankful for your interest.

Oh, the names of the folders in my favorites, like "spectacular prose"? Go to your profile > favorites. It's set up just like galleries. There should be a button, I think on the left, that says "New Collection". Click that and it'll bring up a folder, which you can name anything you like~! And then of course if you hover over your folders the little edit button comes up at the top right edge of them and you can rename, delete, or "edit the widget" -- tell it how you want the folders displayed.
I hope that helps! I really don't know why people don't use the feature more, I think it's really spiffy, and useful.

You're welcome! You have an absolutely beautiful gallery.
I have a question for a photographer, if you have the time. What do you think of cropping? Do you crop many of your photos? I've always thought that it's like cheating, but I've never actually asked someone who's into the trade for their opinion, or use of it.

I appreciate that; thanks again.
Personally I have absolutely no problem with cropping work so long as it's not distorted out of a few specific ratios. All of my work is cropped from a 2:3 ratio to a 1:1 ratio and that's before I start with any sort of tightening crops! That said, I generally prefer to avoid cropping into a piece to any great extent as you do tend to lose clarity the tighter you crop, but aside from that consideration it shouldn't really be an issue. There are those who consider cropping to be some sort of artistic crime, but they're also the sort of people who think that digital photography itself is an abomination. This amuses me, as film photography was once looked upon in the same disdainful fashion by traditional artists, heh.
I generally think that the outcome is more important than the process; I use the same argument when people speak about digital processing or the use of camera phones or compact cameras to capture images. These are just tools (or processes) of a trade; it'd be like complaining about a beautiful painting just because the artist used cheap brushes, or railing against an eloquent literary piece on the basis that it was composed in a .txt file on a laptop rather than some old ribbon typewriter.
It's all just static, but then; this is is all just my opinion.

You have some really good points! The whole digital camera/process doesn't matter as much as the outcome argument makes complete sense. Thanks for sharing with me, you've definitely changed my perspective of things, and gave me more to think about. C:
