Are they very old Edie!!!?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

1001G In reply to TriciaS [2017-03-06 16:33:23 +0000 UTC]

they are about 70 years old .,...the end of their life span...a lot of them are getting chopped down..... and this pathway will lose its character because 80% of the trees are cotton woods as are the other cotton woods on the other paths I take. Β We are surrounded by cottonwoods everywhere

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TriciaS In reply to 1001G [2017-03-06 18:52:13 +0000 UTC]

We have to replace all trees that we remove....We had to ask if it was okay to chop an oak tree down in our garden...It was huge....We could but had to plant another one!!It is growing quickly!!!!!!!Trees matter alot here...we have lots of woods ...and forests!!All protected in someway!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

1001G In reply to TriciaS [2017-03-10 17:22:37 +0000 UTC]

if its on our property , we do to but this is the city and I dont know what they do...obviously they just chopped down....trees are very important in life..they put oxygen in the air

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TriciaS In reply to 1001G [2017-03-10 17:35:44 +0000 UTC]

No .....It's not as clear here Β either.....Some places build houses where there are alot of trees...Promise to plant trees all around the buildings....but.....there may just be a few at the front as you go into the housing estate...Some houses don't have enough room in their gardens for trees...even one!!!!!We are lucky ...All the houses round us have plenty of trees and the council have planted trees along the road which is good!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

1001G In reply to TriciaS [2017-03-13 16:04:33 +0000 UTC]

I do love trees........and the cotton woods are great because of their character.......once they are all gone this will be a very boring place. Β We dont have to big of a yard.(good in the sense that we dont have to mow to much) but we have a linden tree in the front (which is huge) a Canadian cherry (has while blossoms in the spring that smell like lilac) a big ash, a golden locust and a mulberry tree with tons of character. Β We have done our share for sure

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TriciaS In reply to 1001G [2017-03-13 18:42:33 +0000 UTC]

You certainly have .They are lovelytrees!!I can't stop my husband buying fruit trees. The plums are the worst ....They drop all over the place....and the dogs will keep eating them....That's not so good...The apples are as bad...and the pips are poisonous for dogs!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

1001G In reply to TriciaS [2017-03-14 04:20:01 +0000 UTC]

oh I love fruit trees....we had a purple plum that the frost finally got.......
we had a dog then but he never got to go in the back yard because we thought he was killing the grass. which we found out later he did not..we had a disease ......so now we are on our third re sodding......and nobody can figure out why this lawn is dying again........
Β I dont know choc is bad for dogs but thats about it.
I guess u will have to clean up the yard before the dogs get out

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TriciaS In reply to 1001G [2017-03-14 18:25:20 +0000 UTC]

The back where they run the most is longish grass with meadow flowers...and trees....We have a rabbit there as well. The dogs are trained not to chase the rabbit.Which is good because he runs around too he does have a pen to live in!!
