Description
To Jake
10/27/18
To Jake, may he be well where he goes.
So weak, so frail, and laying down so quiet.
How life has come full circle is cruel before my eyes.
He lays there so quiet, breathing so slow
His eyes draining of the light once bright.
He whimpers, he cries, he settles down slowly to die,
his life, tis at its end, the light shall soon die.
Oh joy you have brought us, your life lived to fullest,
the people who loved, who cared, and who cherished you now weep.
Tis a night of saddness, for we gather round,
as the life does die from the pet called Jack, the sun shall know him no more.
Tis the night shall be his last, and dawn will arrive without him,
he shall take his place, among the clouds and paradise.
Good by my feline friend, tis a pleasure to see you once more,
before the life does drain from you, and your body ceases no more.
