DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT ME IN THE PHOTO!! THIS IS MY SISTER LEAH!!This is the costume of Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) that I made for my 17 year old sister Leah. Leah looks alot like me so people mistake her for me. This is not me in the photo, this is Leah my sister.
This dress actually has 16 gores in it, and underneith she is wearing a corset that is squeezing her waist down to 23 inches. We decided that she needed an unnaturally small waist because Aurora had one in the movie. It needed to be victorian-small... so I kicked out a corset for her in a few hours.

you did a superb job with this! my boyfriend and i are dressing as aurora and her prince for halloween this year ( i know its early but i have to hand sew everything so it takes forever). where did you get your pattern? i can't find one anywhere?

wow, you've done a great job making these costumes, especially the way the dress falls just the same as in te movie. one thing though.. WHY PINK??? the blue one was soooo much prettier in my opinion.. but that's me.

i was wishing (should i go as princess aurora for a fancy dress costume) that i would try and get a fabric that is pink when you look at it one way and blue when you look at it another.
so you get the pink-blue-pink-blue effect that happened on the movie!

The sewing and pattern making of this dress is quite good! I just wish you would have chose a fabric to match the quality of the construction. Was it a cost issue?
