They hate her for illegitimate reasons, they see something where there is nothing of the sort. They claim that she is some kind of "feminist" or "social justice warrior" in a negative sense when all she wants is for her people to be treated equally alongside organic species.
Other droids in Star Wars, such as HK-01 and IG-88 among others, have tackled the issue of their fellow droids being treated as slaves by advocating revolution and a takeover of the galaxy, often if not always involving the genocide of most or every organic lifeform.
These people who attack L3-37 never had an issue with droid supremacists like the two I mentioned, and I know exactly why; it's because L3-37 is female, and those other aforementioned droids are male. It's just rampant anti-feminists being trogs, as usual.

Most people on the internet who claim to be fans are just trolls who want to do nothing but spread hate. Β They're probably 40-year-olds who are still living with their parents. Β That doesn't mean they make up the vast majority of the Star Wars fanbase.
