Description

I made this painting for the 1000Drawings project, it's a one night exhibition for charity in Amsterdam, on May the 11th. There will be 1000 drawings for sale for the same low, accessible price (€10).. this is my partecipation to the event. So, I hope that someone among you will find my little watercolor and buy it!

Proceeds will be donated to support FairPen, which helps children in Uganda to run an editorial office with their peers, investigate issues, think critically, and publish handwritten, handdrawn newspapers to each other and to their local communities.

I watched the YouTube video of you painting this, so that's what brought me here.

And honestly, this piece is amazing and beautiful, the colours are magnificent and vibrant even though they create a cool feeling within me and i love the contrast between the fair tones and the harshness of the hair...

But, i think watching your technique come to play in the painting itself is what made this a unique and breathtaking piece for me. The technical side of the art work, I feel, speak more in terms of volume than the actual piece does.

I still love it, and think its far better than anything i could ever paint though e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Great work, and thank you for sharing!

It's gorgeous and very inspirational. However, I feel like there's something missing, and that there should have had something added to it. I can't tell why, but it feels empty. There's a lot of emotion in this painting, and I love how her hair is so dark compared to the rest of the painting. The colors you have used for this painting is amazing. If someone asked me who Agnes Cecile is, I would show them this painting and say "She made this" This painting really shows how you paint. It's great, but not the best art you have made e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I speak from the bottom of my heart when i say:

Your technique is amazing, how from a 'simple' sketch you can bring to life such an amazing piece.
My grandma said 'She's gifted with watercolours.', i agreed. It's the first time i see this way of making use of such a difficult (at least for me) media.

I've seen this piece houndreds of times, and each time it gets my eyes watery.
Her eyes have such a depth. So.. hypnotic and emotional. Her whole facial expression makes me wonder about what we can't see, her history, and i could continue...

The feeling it's just: speechless.

Congratulations!

I'm from Argentina, so.. i apologize for any horrifying grammar mistake.

I love the way you use water colour. Water Colouring can be very messy and difficult, but you manage to get pass that.

The originality is very awesome~~ Not everyone can think of an idea like this. Your technique is great. You should always draft before actually doing the real thing.

This drawing left a great impact on me. The eyes look so.... I can't express my feelings about this.

Overall, This drawing is very beautiful and inspiring~~~

This painting has moved me. It is irresistible and the eyes in particular make it memorable.

I tried to copy the technique - enlarging the screen to get under the brush strokes - and then realised how difficult this is, though I am sure it was fluent and quick for your natural talent.

I have seen a few of you works and many of them inspire me to try something similar myself - alas I don' have a natural flair, however my results are good enough (I think) to hang on a wall - with mixed responses from visitors.
There are references to this being a video - must try to find it.

Hypnotic and striking. Thank you for sharing this.

As one who has immense difficulty in using watercolors, that alone allows me to appreciate such work and craftsmanship. The expression of the face combined with the runny colors on the right side create a breathtaking amount of emotion. The combination also makes it appear as though the colors are coallescing to form the person's face, with more and more details appearing as the eye goes from right to left when looking at this picture. The work put into the details of the irises and eyebrows is incredible, and this work overall evokes admiration from me, which is uncommon, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I adore this piece!! Your use of color gives it a sense of chaos that is very cohesive! The eyes leave the viewer curious, wondering what is in the distance? Very intriguing....that something you captured that many other artist miss in their pieces. I would have to say that my favorite part of this piece would have to be the eyes. You painted them beautifully, leaving a sort of sparkle that allows room for wonder and imagination. One thing I enjoy about art is that it is up for interpretation, you can have different views and even give it a back story.. This is what you have done here e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> you have given it a back story.. Really lovely work, keep it up!
