I agree with some of the positive comments Weoosh made. But I disagree with quite a few of the critical statements and I wanted to comment on some aspects that Weoosh missed.
I love how the photo does pop out at you. The use of bright neon colors definitely does that job! However, I think the critique missed the point of the image. (I could be wrong here) But I think the point of the image was more than just "rainbow veins".
It's about having your ART in your veins. Your medium of art. It's inside you, apart of you, what makes you who you are & the artist you are.
Also, her comment about "could have chosen another part of the body" . . . I think that is beside the point as well. In general, most people instinctively think of the wrist when referencing a person's VEINS. So I think that the meaning of your title wouldn't be as effective if you had chosen another body part.
Finally, I myself am a cutter. I have been a Self-Injurer since I was 14 (I'm 33 now). So I'm very familiar with the concept of cutting of one's forearm and letting what is inside, out. As an artist, I can also connect with the feeling of having that creative medium running through your veins and pumping in your heart with every heart beat.
I love this piece. You could have chosen a darker color pallet or a black background and created a different emotional effect but still very beautiful and compelling.

it is really quite unique concept. simple but unique. not much of a canvass but the picture speaks for itself. its as if that art itself flows in your veins and it suddenly slipped out of your pores just to show the world how colorful it is and how great you are in what you do. if suicide is as colorful as that, then anyone who decides to slash at their wrists will die amidst the rainbow. keep it up.
