Description this is a big picture, but only coz its four in one...

anyways, some old photos for my x-ray project. they arent really very x-rayish, but i find them really pretty, particularly arranged like this. they glow! hmm, i think they're carnations... correct me if im wrong though. in my art book i have them arranged like this with the original in the middle, but i decided for dA it probably looks better like this. i might upload the original on its own... but it looked awesome in my book... just coz its so different and you can see how it helped my final piece (not this one... i did another version with lillies, but it didnt arrange quite as well... i might try upload it later though. dunno...)

anyways, i hope you like it...

I love all these pictures, and this one I liked specially! But the one minus is that the black is very heavy. How does these pictures look at a white background? You think the colors would disappear?

thanks

well... the idea is that they are to look like x-rays... so the black was a necessity for that. it's also a necessity to create the glowing effect since you need a black underlayer for the transparency. so it would require a lot of work cutting out each flower and pasting them on quite... i can show you a photo of how it looks in my book if you like? its still the flowers against a black background, but instead of them being side by side like that there's a gap between each picture... so the black isnt quite so heavy. im just not convinced it would work as well (or be as easy to produce) digitally...

god... cant remember. took a photo of a carnation on a lightbox, uploaded it to gimp, inverted the colours, added a black layer underneath, used the alpha channel thing to make a certain colour a certain degree of transparency, then colourised it i think... and then obviously arranged it

thanks
