I started this 5 days ago and returned to it for the past 3 days, making small micro adjustments and trying to find out why it wasn't speaking to me the way I wanted it to. Something just felt 'wrong' and I felt a need to fix it. I could've just said 'fuck it' and moved on since I was really just toying around and not intending to make a full render, but I really wanted to get this right for some reason. It came to an otherwise acceptable state initially but something didn't feel right and it was an itch I couldn't scratch. A je ne sais quoi that ate away at me. So I returned to it a couple days later to spend the next few days trying to figure out what it was. I eventually figured it out completely by accident when I was trying to make an adjustment for something else and connected the "wrong" nodes but it turned out to be exactly what I needed. Go figure, right? And that opened some doors for me.Software Used: Blender (Cycles)
