Likewise, if her physical body is destroyed, Mari's soul and self is reverted back into a dormant, semi-tangible wisp seeping back into the environment, and she sleeps until she can recover her strength again (read: one thousand years).
Spell Capture: Captures and seals spells into a physical object, creating a talisman that can be used by anyone holding it to cast the spells contained within or consumed for supplemental magic energy. When talismans are exhausted, the physical object tends to disintegrate into dust, so Mari prefers to use disposable objects (such as paper charms) to create these talismans. Magic stored in these talismans can be used as instant-cast spells in tight situations where time or magic energy/ability is lacking.

Stagnant Lands: Places were the earth is empty and barren or where the air is stale and dead leave nothing for Mari to draw on with her Circulation. In the worst cases, the environment is poisoned and Circulation becomes a curse, crippling Mari with immense suffering.

A girl who appears to be lighthearted and easygoing. But when she seems lost in thought, her expression becomes a little darker, as if she was scheming something sinister...

It probably doesn't seem surprising how easy you can approach Mari. She seems quite friendly. In fact, often she'll seem to go out of her way to help you if you need something. "Don't worry about it," she assures you. "Just help me out in the future when the time comes!"

And the time will come. You might even question it, somewhere in the back of your mind. "Is this what a manipulative personality is like? Nah, it can't be. She just really needs my help. History:
A military general found a strange baby in the woods across the great waters a while back; it appeared to be a human baby, but had strange fiery hair and unnatural eyes. The general was advised to kill the baby; the local people insisted that the baby was really the reincarnation of an ancient and monstrous witch-queen defeated a thousand years ago. But he refused and took the baby home and raised the child as his own. He called her Mari based on the name of the so-called demon she supposedly was.

The general eventually retired and worked hard to provide the best life he could for his daughter. But the rest of the world is not kind to those who are very different from the norm, so Mari often had to endure the harsh rejection of those who were afraid of her. Eventually, Mari's father decided to secure her education through private tutors, and it was from there they discovered her talent for magic and began to pursue it.

At eighteen years, Mari made her decision to pursue her studies in earnest independently, and retreated into the forest. There she made herself a home and continued honing her abilities alone for the next three years. She was supposed to have been in complete isolation, but somehow a not-so-mysterious letter made its way to her doorstep one morning.
