This started out as Tuesday's daily. When it was dinnertime and I was still rigging the mainmast, well.... I had to throw in the towel and admit this was just a regular drawing and not a doodle. :sBased on a somewhat battered model of the Ajax of 1767. I then set up masts and sails from memory, to indifferent success. The foremast is a bit stumpy and the crossjack is too long, for starters.
Overall not too bad, though, for memory practice. But it shows I need to do more drills from plans and diagrams to reinforce proper rigging proportions.-------

Aye -- well, technically, the lowest square yard, as the lateen mizen, and its successor the gaff, are both carried under the cro'jack, as the crossjack is frequently known. It also virtually NEVER had a sail bent to it, a fact that escapes 99% of game designers and illustrators both.
