Description
“The Hell Creek Caenagnathids”
Anzu wyliei, Eoneophron infernalis, unnamed caenagnathid oviraptorosaur. An acrylic painting of the recently described Hell Creek caenagnathids separate from the previously established Anzu.
This was a commission given to me back in 2021 by one of the authors of the recent paper, “A new oviraptorosaur (Dinosauria: Theropoda) from the end-Maastrichtian Hell Creek Formation of North America,” by Atkins-Weltman et al (2024). It was fun project given that I have a soft spot for caenagnathid oviraptorosaurs, though I am definitely not a fan of how the Eoneophron turned out in the end (as with most of my previous artwork). It could have been rendered better.
Although, I do like the little, still unnamed taxon in the bottom left of the composition. I probably would have done things differently if I did the project today.
Completed in July 2021.
Done using acrylics, color pencils, ink, and Photoshop 2021.
