Description
Anna Key is an extraterrestrial magic user, born on the planet Pershia in the Quardarx System over 130 years into the future, now living on Earth in our present day.
Confused? Allow me to explain.
History
While Pershia was one of the 7 inhabited worlds in its solar system and a member of the Quardarx Union, it was often considered the pariah of the 'family' – frequently getting in trouble over the treatment of its citizens, believed abuses of power by the various political parties, rumours of illegal experiments, etc.
The major point of Persh's downfall, however, was with a conflict that emerged following the discovery of the rare and valuable crystalline material Synk-X on one of the solar system's asteroids ; a material that was currently been extracted by miners who had come from outside the system.
The attempts of the union to reason with the miners regarding both what was still within the Asteroid and what had already been extracted did not go well, particular with the Persh demanding all the Synk-X be returned and refusing to bend to the attempts of the Miner's governments to negotiate a trade deal. What followed was, what many agreed, an unnecessary war known as the “Synk-X conflict”, driven by greed and vanity.
The war ended when a more hostile race – the Axzorikans – seized control of the asteroid and hooked up a 'Gravity Wave' transmitter to the Synk-X within; the power contained in the material been used as an energy source to unleash a gravity wave powerful enough to completely annihilate both warring factions as well as decimate the Quardarx System (destroying the planets or throwing them out of their normal orbit). The attempt was thankfully foiled by a trio of stowaways; the human-dragon hybrid Jam, the celestial prince Tralix and the cyborg mercenary KNIGHT , who were able to redirect the weapon before it fired – sending the asteroid hurtling out of the system but saving the various planets from annihilation.
While the war ended as the material they fought over had been lost and most of the union were counting their blessings when it was revealed what had happened, the ruling party of Persh took this badly; sending several ill-fated expeditions to find the asteroid and recover its contents (a futile gesture as the asteroid had ended up in the Mermaid Nebula – over half the universe away from its original location – and its contents had been distributed elsewhere), whilst the ruling party on Persh placed the blame solely on the Union for its loss.
The Union ultimately decided enough was enough and cut Persh's membership – the conflict and aftermath been the straw that broke the camel's back, with the Union hoping that the forced separation would make the Persh see sense and act more maturely.
That did not happen.
As time went on and life on Pershia got tougher, the slave race known as the Psirachnids rebelled and successfully fled , whilst discontent reached fever pitch – leading to riots and civil unrest across the planet, the people of Pershia demanded change. In the wake of this chaos, a new political party emerged – promising to restore strength, stability, justice and power to Pershia with the promise of a “Brighter Future” without the support of the Union. This new party succeeded in getting into power, but their “Brighter Future” would instead morph into a repressive, totalitarian nightmare with no end or escape in sight. As if George Orwell has predicted it, Pershia devolved in a 1984-style dystopia; civil liberties were swept away, historical fact changed to suit the party's needs, psychically gifted children been taken from their families to be trained for a variety of tasks and the citizens kept under constant surveillance as the ruling party became the only party, with the “All Powerful Matriarch” serving as the world's equivalent of Big Brother.
So, where does Anna fit into all this?
Back to the Past
Around 150 years after the Synk-X conflict, A new threat in the form of an alien race called “The Babel” emerged – singling Pershia out as the world was still separated from the Union. Determined to prove their might, Pershia sent out a blunt message to the other worlds to stay out of the conflict as Pershia would deal with it themselves. The rest of the Union had conflicting thoughts on the events unfolding, but nonetheless activated their own defences and began preparing for the aftermath in case the Babel turned their attention elsewhere in the system.
On Pershia, the battle was not going to plan; the ruling party 'needed' a victory but the Babel's hypnotic song allowed them to disorientate the military forces by messing with their minds, making the troops no longer able to understand each other or even their own language. In some cases, the affected troops were now attacking each other or killing themselves.
With such a threat likely to target them next, the party ordered the initiation of a back-up military task called “Operation Morning Star” – which would involve 70 of the gifted individuals that had been trained since childhood by the party to undergo a magically-induced genetic modification, before been sent back in time through a temporal displacement in the solar system known as the “Mouth of the Ravager”; named for the unstable time energies within but which was proven to be a gateway to the past.
The goal of the individuals sent back would be to acquire as many skills and powers as they could from other worlds. When the time was right, they would return in order to see off the invaders.
It was a risky plan, but was nonetheless put into action, with “Anna” (a teenage girl currently referred to as Subject 4N4RK3) been genetically altered using a similar process that was used to create the Psirachnids – with Anna gaining similar abilities as well as been able to partially or fully transform into a spider, alongside the magic she had been taught since childhood.
Once this was complete, the children who had survived the procedure were loaded into pods and launched out into space – heading towards the Mouth of the Ravager. As the group passed through the temporal vortex, most were killed by the raw power raging within; a grand total of 7 ships managing to make it through the whole way with their 'cargo' still alive, before their ship's computers set their paths in different directions in their search for individual, habitable worlds where the surviving children could learn and grow.
For Anna, her ship's computer selected Earth – beginning a long journey to the Milky Way galaxy and to the world she would now call home.
Life on Earth
When the pod eventually reached Earth following a long journey, it proceeded to land in England in the United Kingdom. Anna, relying solely on her new predatory instincts following her genetic modification and due to the amount of time spent travelling, immediately went hunting for food – although her lack of understanding of Earth meant she started unintentionally causing a ruckus in certain places, with people spotting her and news broadcasts reporting seeing a “monster” roaming around.
This news reached Earth-United , whose founder Jasmine decided to find out what was happening – getting in touch with one of her allies in the UK, Roxy Cunningham , and asking her to see what was going on. During Roxy's investigation, however, the situation became more serious when it was reported that a young girl had now gone missing.
Joined by Jake Wolfe (who volunteered to help), the pair were able to track the child back to Anna's lair, with the girl wrapped up in webbing and unconscious but alive. However, as Jake cut the girl free, the group were then attacked by Anna – transformed fully into her Spider form and acting purely on instinct as she fought to subdue the 'invaders'. As Roxy got the child to safety, Jake took on Anna in a heated fight, managing to put her on the defensive as he unintentionally ripped off one of her legs – causing her to morph in a semi-human form – and pinning her down, only to be temporarily blinded as Anna responded by spitting a mixture of webbing and organic glue into Jake's face.
Roxy - seeing that Anna was more than just a simple creature upon her transformation - was able to use her own powers to gently calm her down and allow her to regain control of herself, with Anna been understandably scared as she found herself in a strange world.
Taking Anna to a refuge for teenagers that she had set up, Roxy and Jake (who managed to remove and wash off the webbing and glue) managed to gain Anna's trust and learned of her mission – with Roxy taking Anna in while Jake reported their success back to Jasmine.
In the time since, Anna Key (as she chose to name herself, as a play on of the word “Anarchy”) has managed to adapt much better to human life, coming to regard Roxy like a 'big sister' – especially as she has never truly know what it's like to have a family and with Roxy managing to teach Anna how to use her virtual reality warping power to some extent.
Like Roxy, Anna has also taken an interest in similar music – listening frequently to rock and metal, but also to punk and rave/dance music. Whilst learning more about her new home through exploration and reading/watching various media, she has also come to see how badly Pershia is controlled. With her childhood brainwashing now superseded and her eyes opened, Anna has made it her priority that when the time comes in around 150 years time, she will save Pershia from the Babel...and then, she's going to save her world.

Powers and Abilities
Born as a child gifted with psychic power, Anna was taken from her parents by the ruling party and trained to use her powers as well as use magic. She was also trained in various skills that would make her a dangerous mercenary and assassin so she could do the ruling party's bidding when necessary. As a Pershian, she naturally has a much longer lifespan than that of a human.
Following her genetic modification, Anna also gained powers similar to that of the Psirachnids – having various arachnid/spider traits specific to various species, been able to drain blood, bodily fluids or psychic energy like a vampire and been able to use webbing made or psychic energy or silk, but also partially or fully transform into a spider; her full spider form been elephant sized and resembling a Wolf Spider .
While on Earth, she is learning other powers and abilities from other people – most notably with Roxy creating a copy of her virtual warping power for Anna to learn to use.
Inspiration: I thought up this character whilst listening to "Anarchy in the UK" by the Sex Pistols .
