Description emmmm

that xD

this was inspired by the armor that the vikings of the varangian guard, in byzantium used, there are not finished yet (I ran out of metal before finishing them) but in the picture they look fine for me for submiting them xD.

when the byzantine vambraces are ready I'll take a photo of the dinished legs too

unfortunately I haven't found any historical sources asides of the books and sites in internet that are just bibliography... but at least all of them seems really fiable.... anyway I think that "byzantine armies" by Ian Heath & Angus Mcbride (from "men-at-arms" series) could be a more reliable source of information, I've not read it, since it's not avaliable in my country, but maybe there you could find the actual historical sources.

wow, fancy looking! it does appear to be a bit impractical... what's your say on their function?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aranglinn In reply to Marcusstratus [2007-10-31 14:26:22 +0000 UTC]

well... they're not uncomfortables and are strong enought to defend me in a not-to-death combat xD, but still I think i'll need some padding down there

it looks very interesting - can you point out some historical sources from leg armour of that type.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aranglinn In reply to Ugrik [2007-10-30 23:58:04 +0000 UTC]

I've seen sources of this anywhere, including the ones from reenactment groups, but I cant recall anyone historic now.... I'll look for one and tell you when I find it
