Description
The next moveset of the this "wave" and the very first moveset for the month of June, has arrived at last.
As you can see, the 39:th character to join XELAWL Megamixer 23, (the 38:th was a former Special Feature), is none other than the right-hand woman of Lord Dalles; Zava. Will her magical knowledge give her the strength to dominate all of her opponents? Or will her overconfidence be her downfall? Like it was when she battled Yunica Tovah/Hugo Fact in the Halls of Reflection? Let us find out.
Here is the moveset in detail:
STANDARD B: Lightning Surge
Zava uses her magic staff to create a purple energy ball above the opponent. The distance is similar to the one between the Spiny Shell and an opponent when it is used. Then 1 ½ second later, the ball sends out a lightning bolt downwards (like in the right picture). When the opponent gets hit, then the opponent will receive half as much damage as Pikachu’s Thunder and instead of knockback, the opponent will be stunned for two seconds instead. Then the energy ball will disappear and Zava must wait six seconds before it can be used again. Regardless if the lightning bolt hit the opponent or not. If Zava is fighting against more than one opponent, the energy ball will appear above the opponent with the lowest damage percentage-counter. Unless it is a tie, then the opponent will be chosen randomly. She can also perform this move while she is floating after performing her secondary jump. But she is unable to move while she is performing this move in the air. If she gets attacked while she is performing this move, then the energy ball will disappear as she takes the intended damage and knockback from the move she was hit by. Then she must wait three seconds before she can perform this move again. If Zava tries to perform this move before the recovery-time has passed, then she will raise her staff, see that nothing is happening and get really annoyed. Leaving her open to get attacked.
SIDE B: Rain of Despair
Zava reaches her staff forwards and shoots out three rows of three projectiles (similarly to what she does in the picture). Just like Palutena’s Standard B, these projectiles will home in on the closest opponent. Except that these projectiles do not travel as fast as not in a straight line. When an opponent gets hit by these projectiles, that opponent will get stunned by the first and receive the knockback from the last one. While taking 5 % damage from each projectile in quick succession. With the three projectiles in each “wave” hitting the opponent at once. If more than one opponent was standing in front of Zava when she performs this move. Then the projectiles will split their attention to hit all of the opponents. Thus dealing less overall damage and knockback to each of them. However, just like Palutena’s Standard B. If no opponent is close enough to her (with the furthest functional distance being the same as in the picture). Then Zava’s staff will not send out any projectiles, as she shouts in an annoyed tone: “blasted staff!” If Zava gets attacked from behind while she is performing this move, then she will take the intended damage and knockback. While also the projectiles damage-output cut in half. Just like her Standard B, she can perform this move while she is floating due to her secondary jump. After she has performed this move, whatever it was performed in the air or on the ground and regardless if it was cancelled or not. She must wait seven seconds before she can perform it again.
UP B: Hyper Vortex
Zava surrounds herself in an electric sphere as she creates a vortex underneath her (just like in the left picture). If she was not already in the air when she performed this move, then she will teleport to her location (which is as far up as the distance Palutena teleports). Any opponents that gets near the vortex will be pulled towards it and then get stunned when they reach the center. Then after either three seconds passed since she created the vortex or when the player presses the B-button again. Zava will create a large sword that will come crashing towards the center of the vortex (just like in the right picture). Releasing a wave of purple energy and cracking the stage in the process. Any opponent that is stuck in the center will receive 16 % damage and a moderate amount of knockback. After that, Zava will get rid of the remaining energy, release herself from the electric sphere and fall helplessly downwards. The overall reach of this move is as slightly further than the Black Hole-item and the pulling-strength is slightly stronger. But this move will not be as effective if she uses it when there is no solid ground beneath her. The vortex will still occur, but the damage and knockback from the sword will not be as strong. If Zava gets attacked while she is performing this move, then she will either neglect the damage and knockback, while dealing 4 % damage back to the opponent. Or she will receive half the intended damage and knockback while her attack gets cancelled completely. All depending on the overall strength of the attack that she was hit by. After she has performed this move, regardless where she performed it and if she was attacked or not. She must wait six seconds before she can perform this move again.
DOWN B: Demon Summoning / Demon Fuse
In order to explain this move, I need to describe Zava’s overall gimmick:
Once Zava’s percentage counter has reached 70 % and is able to be fully controlled again (if she was receiving knockback or was prevented from moving in any way). She will open a portal in the background of the stage and summon either Yoglecks or Omulgun out of it. While she is doing this, she is not affected by the damage and knockback from the attacks she gets hit by. Once either demon has been summoned, it will freely move around the stage at a moderate speed and attack the opponent(s) with various attacks all on its own. Similar to an Assist Trophy that Zava summoned. Then when her percentage-counter reaches 140 %, Zava will open the portal once more and summon the demon that she did not already summon. After a demon has been summoned, Zava will be able to get controlled again. Though if the player presses Down B after a demon has been summoned, nothing will happen. Zava’s allies in a team battle can stand on the heads of the demons without taking any damage. While the opponent(s) will receive 4 % damage just for getting too close.
The demons themselves are very similar to each other in many ways. They are both as big as Bowser, can attack while moving and cannot be harmed by the opponents. However, they cannot jump and they attack at random. If they fall off the stage, then they will get teleported back to the stage by an annoyed Zava. They also have very similar attacks, but with somewhat different functions:
Yoglecks (the blue demon) can breathe out a freezing cold breath that deals as much damage and knockback as Sora’s Blizzaga. Sometimes it will dash forwards a short distance and bite the opponents. Dealing damage and knockback similar to Mario’s forwards smash-attack. It can also open its mouth and fire a powerful laser towards the direction it is facing. This beam will travel across the full screen (unless it collides with a wall) and deal a lot of damage, while also freezing the opponents. Though this laser will also push Yoglecks backwards a short distance. Omulgun (the red demon) can breathe fire that functions identically to Bowser’s Fire Breath. Except it does not get weaker over time. Its bite-attack is the same as Yoglecks’ and the laser-attack now deals more damage and knockback, but does not freeze the opponent(s).
If Zava loses a stock while the demons are helping her, then the demons will be forced back into their portals and cannot be summoned again until her percentage-counter has reached its decided amount again. Otherwise she will try to perform the summoning spell, but be left open as nothing happens.
Now as for the Special Move itself:
The player can press Down B to make Zava summon either demon before the percentage-requirements have been met. But doing so, will leave her open to get attacked by the opponent(s). Making her receive the intended damage and knockback from the move she was hit by, while also cancelling the summoning spell. Preventing her from summoning either demon until the percentage-requirements have been met.
If the player presses Down B while Zava is near either demon. Then she will turn herself into an energy-sphere that flies into one of the demon heads (just like in the bottom-middle picture). After doing this, Zava will successfully fuse with that specific demon (indicated by the aura that now surrounds that specific demon). Allowing the player to fully control the movement and attack for that demon, even if it moves as slowly as it did before. Pressing the B-button makes it use either the ice breath or fire breath (depending on which demon is controlled). Holding the B-button will make it charge up the laser-attack. Pressing Side B will perform the bite-attack, but this time it can be performed three times in a row. Pressing Up B will make Zava swap herself into the other demon, but it only works when both demons are helping her. Pressing Down B will make the controlled demon lower itself into the ground and either freeze the ground around it or turn it into lava (depending on the demon itself). The frozen ground will instantly freeze an opponent that touches it while dealing 5 % damage and the lava will act just like the “yellow liquid” on Brinstar. After two seconds, the demon will raise up again, turn the surrounding ground back to normal and can continue fighting like normal.
However, the demon that Zava possess can now be damaged by the opponent(s). With all the damage it receives being added onto Zava’s percentage-counter. Once the possessed demon has received at least 25 % damage, an energy-orb will fly out of that demon’s forehead. The orb land son the ground and reveals an exhausted Zava that had just been forced out. Being left open to get attacked by the opponents. While the demon that she possessed will be knocked backwards a short distance and then be left dizzy for an equally long time. By swapping demons, Zava can reset the “damage-counter” to prevent her from getting forced out. But the damage will not get healed up and after doing it, she must wait eight seconds before she can do it again. After she has been forced out (unless she lost a stock), Zava can be fully be controlled again after two seconds has passed. Then she can move around as usual, while the demon she possessed will act on its own once again. She will not be able to possess one of the demons until sixteen seconds has passed since she was forced out or until she has lost a stock.
FINAL SMASH: Ancient Ys Vanished
Zava laughs as she releases powerful magic from her entire body that looks really similar to her Up B and Hero’s Magic Burst. If no opponents comes close to her while she does this for five seconds, then she will stop and get really mad at the opponent(s). Then the battle will carry on as usual. But if at least one opponent touches the magic, then a cut-scene will play in which the opponent(s) gets transported to the entrance of Campanile of Lane. The opponent(s) will look up and see that Zava has transformed into the form she takes in the left picture. Then the cut-scene ends and similarly to Zeus’ Level 3 in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the opponent(s) must avoid all of the attacks that Zava throws towards them. While she cannot be harmed in anyway, as she stays in the background. Though the stage itself will just be one flat room without a ceiling or anything to hide behind. The player that controls Zava has no say on what attacks she performs. But she will quickly cover the entire screen with red projectiles that flies really fast and deals a lot of damage. These projectiles works a lot like her Side B, except they are larger and comes from all sides of her body. Meanwhile, she will also summon Zervanites that flies around the stage and shoot out a stream of projectiles at the same time. Barley giving the opponent(s) any room to avoid any of them, due to the speed and reach of the projectiles, in combination of their large amount. After ten seconds has passed, Zava will laugh as she ends out one last wave of energy that destroys the opponents (even if their percentage-counter is not over 100 %). Then the screen fades to black for a few seconds, until it returns back to the stage the battle initially took place at. Zava has now transformed back to normal and says: “So that is what will come of my future self. Interesting.”

Now that this moveset has been released. I will begin working on the moveset for a certian tag-team of ungulates.
Thank you very much for reading this moveset and have a great rest of this weekend.
