You know I had a similar idea for a ship like this in a fanfic I had planned (it fell through so I never got round to it)
I dunno why but I liked the idea as they are A. both strong warriors, B. Both have saved the galaxy (To Samus credit a few more times than Shepard), C. Are elevated amongst their peers, D. Suffered loss (This works only if you choose the colonist backstory), E. And are actually quite law abiding, as even if your a renegade you do often kill criminals rather than negotiating with them
