Haha... well, if Pennsylvania still has fairies of the woods, I could not think of a better place for them to live than in that forest.

Some of these photos are there, and a lot more, but a lot of them weren't all that good... I just threw them all up there when we got back and then posted a handful here.

actually thihs was my closer-up shot... I suppose I could take the original and crop it down to remove the distractions. someone else noted that it's not... vertical? it's not aligned just right. I really should do that one of these days.

nice idea but i think it coould do with being put level and maybe cropping out the rock to the right hand side of the water.

"one day"... it's a neat place to visit... I almost drove up there one time when there was snow on the ground... and I backed out because the road is gravel and not ploughed and goes up the side of a mountain...

I might go back this winter though... I've noticed I have a huge empty space in my collection of photos... nowhere near enough snow shots!!!

I have a feeling that you will take some beautiful snow photos. Do you get a lot of snow where you live?

Wow, that is a lot of snow! It looks so cold and beautiful (the snow queen is coming out in me...) Oh dear, well it sounds like you are in for a real snow storm this year. Oh, this sounds selfish, but I can't wait - snow is adorable.

the truck in that pic... hit a power pole in Feb 2005... totalled... one of those snowy blowy days where the snow had drifted over some packed down slush/ice... and i was starting around a turn in the road and it went straight instead. 40MPH-0 in less than a second.

I walked away without a scratch. Someone was looking out for me, I guess. Only real accident I've ever been in and it taught me to respect the snow a little more...

Im glad to hear you weren't hurt. Your guardian angel must have been keeping a close eye on you. Yep, driving in the snow is a bitch. You have to be so careful. I refuse to drive in the snow - I always get someone else to drive me!

ummm... how'd we get here on "Hemlock Falls"?? oh well...

and yeah... I have fun driving on snow... unfortunately it was one of those... it rained sunday night, turned to slushy snow... froze... and then the wind started really blowing... Monday evening i went for salt because the driveway was slick...

Most of the roads were clear... In fact, going down/up the hill i got too overconfident - had things on my mind, topped the hill where the road curves - and found myself going straight.... wanta see a pic of that one? [link]

Whoa, I am really glad you walked away from that. I don't feel too confident driving in the snow, hence the reason why I let someone else take the wheel. Yeah, the snow isn't so nice when it turns to ice.

that area was like 99% nature (with just a small bit of man's presence to aid our path).
