Description
The Kea (Nestor notabilis) is a large parrot from New Zealand's south island. Keas are notoriously curious and intelligent, often interacting with humans and man-made objects. They even use tools. Keas are omnivores, feeding on carcasses, insects and plants, berries, etc... They've even been observed attacking sheep and ripping off pieces of meat with their beaks. The Kea is the only alpine parrot, and, as it turns out, the favourite parrot of an irl friend of mine. She was also the one to suggest the giraffe some time ago.
