Man: “Which one’s Excalibur?”
Merlin: “You must choose. But choose wisely. For the true Excalibur will make you king, the false one will take away your life.”
Man: “I’m no historian, I don’t know which one to pick. Which one is it?”
Woman: “Let me choose.”
Man: “Thank you doctor.”
She points to a jewel encrusted sword.
Man: “It more beautiful than I could ever imagine. This truly the sword of legend.” He pulls the sword out, but instead of being a king, he rapidly age. The man gasps in pain, he looks in a mirror and see’s him becoming an old man, till he ages into a skeleton then is pulled into to the wall.
Merlin: “He chose poorly. Young Alexander Pen, descended of Arthur Pendragon, it’s your turn.”
Woman: “The real Excalibur wouldn’t be made out of gold or any precious metal.”
Alexander: “That’s the sword of a true king.” The sword wasn’t covered in gold or silver, it had a steel blade, with a leather on the handle. Alexander pulls the sword out of the stone, then he turns to Merlin.
Merlin: “You have chosen wisely King Alexander Pen. But remember the code of King Arthur; A Knight is sworn to valor, his heart knows only virtue, his blade defends the helpless, his might upholds the weak, his word speaks only true, his wroth undoes the wicked. And no sacrifice, no victory.”

The idea from Indiana Jones the last crusade. You figure that only a true descendent of King Arther would find the real Excalibur. But you also figure there would be others, who want it.
Think about who doesn’t want to be king, and with that power you can do whatever you want and no one can say no. So you can see Merlin making serval version of Excalibur only to fool those who choose poorly.
If you had to guess what Excalibur would look like, what do you think?
Me personally I think it wouldn’t have any gold or jewels on it. Think about it, a sword like that would be all flash no bang. I like something with a little more kick to it.
