My attempt at digital realism.Kind of.
Except I made the eye all purpley. And the lighting is a bit interesting.. I probably should fix that.
The chest fur was especially annoying, and the contrast is still a bit off, but I am hoping you like it.
The pose is perhaps a bit too stiff, but I think it suits him.

His top half seems a bit top-heavy to me, and agree with you about the slightly stiff pose, but other than that, this is great!

Nice detailing with the fur! The pose is great, too, though I think the head/neck as a kind of awkward angle (and might be a tiny bit too small, but that's probably just be me). Anyway, fur is pretty hard to draw (I certainly can't do it); you did a great job with this!
