Description 44.52 -

"Rimasero talmente soli, così senza parole,
di miracolo degni per tanto disamore -

d'un fulmine in cielo, d'esser mutati in pietra.
Tirature a milioni di mitologia greca,
però non c'è salvezza né per lui né per lei."

This week (the one i'm late for), was based on a collaboration with the dear ~looziker . I found this book of poems by Wislawa Szymborska, and as we're trying to make a little polish-italian exchange lately, it seemed perfect to us to choose a poem on there - also because i have both the polish and italian version of it. It happened that the poem "Senza titolo" in italian, "Bez tytulu" in polish (sorry i don't have the right letters on my pc), "No title" in english, was the one on page 44. Same as week 44. And seeing that 44 is an important number somehow (i know italians will remember mostly the song "44 gatti", but still..) we went for it.
I'm not happy with my result, it's a bit dark and all... but anyway, that one above, is the part that made me think about those little koalas in love a friend of my dad gaved me around 10 years ago. here, i leave you also the polish and english versions of it:

polish:
"Tak bardzo pozostali sami,
tak bardzo bez jednego słowa
i w takiej niemiłości, że cudu są godni —
gromu z wysokiej chmury, obrócenia w kamień.
Dwa miliony nakładu greckiej mitologii,
ale nie ma ratunku dla niego i dla niej."

english:
"The two of them were left so long alone,
so much in un-love, without a word to spare,
what they deserve by now is probably
a miracle – a thunderbolt, or turning into stone.
Two million books in print on Greek mythology,
but there’s no rescue in them for this pair."

and, just so you can read better the poem, the links
italian:  www.libercogitatio.org/poesia/…
polish:  milosc.info/wiersze/Wislawa-Sz…
english: www.mrhoyesibwebsite.com/Poetr…
(giving credits to ~looziker for the links, as I'm being too a to search for them - sorry)

i decided to add also the tree because i felt like it was fitting rigthly with the end of the poem.. yeah, my weird mind.
