For me, the comics style wins most of the time.

I would have to say that it can depend on the character. But then I realize that when I go and see a Marvel or DC movie, the first thing I do is think back to when I was a comic collector and ask myself, "How close did they come to the comic?" I could wax a log time on the different characters that have transitioned from comic to screen (big or small) and the mistake that were made. (in my opinion) along with the surprises for me at least.

I think the movies did a great job with the look of most of the Marvel characters, but just dropped the ball with Scarlet Witch. All she needed was some kind of tiara thing at least to be somewhat recognizable as the character. They went full movie mode on her, so she just looked like some goth chick. Still a cool character, but didn't look anything like Scarlet witch. You did really well with this.
