I've never liked that kind of plume. I prefer it all to be the same length. Too much hockey hair (mullet) on this type.
Still, that's not the main part of the helmet, and everything else looks just great!
And the visor adds A LOT imo and makes it amazing.

The design and detail on this is beyond beautiful. I like how its on a female mannequin, too, like its a helmet for a woman. Really wanna use a design like this for a character I am making. Credit would be given of course!

Compared to metal, certainly, but it looks like the pieces are pretty thick and I remember being impressed by how much leather actually weighs the first time I went to Ren Faire (though I'll admit, since I sew doll clothes I was comparing it to things like broadcloth and tiny bits of polar fleece. Β Not the heaviest of materials).
