It started with a name… Melina. That is the name given to me since birth by my parents. They saw a small little child rapped around blankets, her small fangs not yet fully out of her gums. They thought she would be the perfect little angel, but they didn’t know this small child would lead to the unbalance of the species. They didn’t know of the danger she would bring…
My name is Melina, Melina Len. Just to say the least, I’m abnormal. Not all physically, but mostly internally. And it’s not just me; it’s also my family and many others. We are what humans would call blood suckers, monsters, night walkers, and of course vampires. Well, that’s what I truly am…a vampire.
We vampires all live in a gated community made just for us and no other creatures or humans can get in. Here we can be just us and stop pretending to be ‘normal’

My kind isn’t the only creatures alive that are thought to be myth. Creatures like fairies, trolls, Ghouls, dragons, yeah they’re all real. It’s not that we hide from humans, just that they don’t stop and pay attention to what really lies in front of them, a world of magic and wonders never seen before. They’re too caught up in their own lives to really take a glance at us. We creatures have to coexist with humans, all of us. So we have to look human, talk human, and think like a human when we’re out in public. Human to all human eyes but a creature to those who share my gift. My power. My curse.

We all live together in peace, but there is one creature that my kind can’t stand. The Lycan. Known to humans as werewolfs. There isn’t one thing magical about these ‘magical’ beings. They’re the filthiest beings to ever exist. The one stereotype people got right about my kind is that we can’t stand lycans. I think that’s just because we’re both mortal enemies. We both sure act like it, hunting one another just to release our rage and anger. Mortal enemies since the beginning of time and nothing more. Until that day, until that moment, until that encounter…
