That's somewhat debatable. I mean, they can't be much more than six years or so apart since Twilight hatched Spike in what was apparently Magic Kindergarten. For perspective, my mother and father are eight years apart and no one blinked at that. Further, their actual ages aren't firmly established, so she could very well be an older teen while Spike is a younger teen or tween. Obviously, of course, I don't ship them as their current ages, but as a future ship to ensure they're both of age. Granted, there are also some headcanons out there which say that Spike is already an adult but is just in "baby form" due to his lack of greed, which is... plausible, as well.
