Description <Prev / Next >

Upon arriving at the store, Bee and PuppyCat quickly realise they were short on cash for the items they needed to help Deckard create a fine recipe for his father. The whole reunion situation had come rather quickly for Bee and as a result, she hardly considered the need to purchase anything when she was grabbing her things for the journey. She quickly suggests making some quick cash the best way she knows how: By getting a quick assignment by Temp Bot. Temp Bot proceeds to send the pair to a society of cat people, who are in desperate need of a shipment of milk to feed both them and their crops, though there appears to be gridlock on the highway in which this important delivery truck is stuck on. Bee and PuppyCat, both decked out in construction gear (Bee is happy to know that PuppyCat is also getting an outfit this time!), are tasked to investigate the blockage and get the highway moving.

Upon solving this situation, the pair return to the portal set up by Temp Bot to return back to the store and collect their compensation, with Bee impatiently stomping on the ground where Temp-Bot appeared from to perhaps "wake her up". These efforts are fruitless, however, with PuppyCat receiving a "Black Note", something that he appears concerned about as this is something that he has never seen during his work under the Temp-Bot system. PuppyCat explains that the Black Note is an automated message that is sent out to all clients in the event that the system is shut down. The pair appear shocked as they realise that their transportation back to Earth is gone, and that they are now effectively trapped in outer space.

So, here's the next part to this version of Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space that I've been cooking up recently. Not much to say about this part, really, since I admittedly didn't put much focus on the main bulk of this temp assignment-phase of the story, with this mainly functioning as a familiar setting that can be used to establish the basic narrative of this overall series. As for the little details of this scene, I have based the uniform of Bee on that of the average Japanese construction worker (though it perhaps functions better as a guard's suit), with PuppyCat donning a more simplified western outfit, consisting of a yellow hardhat and a yellow vest, to reflect the show's combined American and Japanese influence.
