Description
Lonely hearts
Trying to find each other
In this endless night
Exhausted and gasping for the truth
Only to suffocate on lies
Precious preconceptions torn apart
Leaving behind a barren soul
Whose blind eyes yield nothing
But a wild search without conclusion
Strings tied but coming undone
What is here?
Is there a reason to stay?
Explanations are pointless
No longer understood
Lost upon the deaf and mute of mind
The tiny birds that they are
Try, boastfully to fly
Wings beat useless against stale air
Forever caught in a self conceived trap
Their personal refusal to accept their fate
Entombed within iron bars
They too know not the answers
Of what would be worse?
To stay or to leave
Or to give up searching
Allowing love to pass unnoticed
To know or save from knowing
The deep pain or enlightening joy
Of reading that long book of finality
And to know for once
The true meaning and purpose
Of life

this poem was written of course by me, and I drew the pic afterwards and felt that they were right for each other.
