Gosh, sorry these next couple of updates are super ugly. I just haven't had a lot of inspiration lately, and the anatomy of some of these pokemon is getting harder. T-T Anyways, enjoy the update. c:

Story:

We trained for the next day before we challenged the gym. Everyone was ready; although, I was still nervous. ‘Was there any more training that we could have done?’ I shook my head as we walked through the gym entrance.

Pictures of bug pokemon lined the walls, and I guessed that the gym leader was a photographer. A rope hung in the middle of the room. It disappeared into a dark hole, making me shudder. We had to go down there? Draco gave me an encouraging nod as I returned everyone except Angel who would be leading the fights. “Ready, Angel?” I asked as I took a hold of the rope. The Pidgey nodded, grinning at my discomfort. “Of course! Let’s get going,” she said as she swopped into the abyss. Sighing, I followed her.

My stomach rose into my throat as I went down the rope. My feet finally hit something solid, and I exhaled loudly. I had been holding my breathe without even realizing it. The solid ground beneath my feet turned out to be not-so-solid after all. I was standing on a huge spiderweb! Looking around, I saw the gym trainers standing on wooden platforms off of the unsteady web. Good for them. A shiver went down my spine as I walked toward the first trainer. I hated spiders and being on a huge web made me think of what size the spider had to have been who made it. Angel wasn’t affected at all though. She fought the gym trainers with ease and hardly broke a sweat. Before I knew it, we had made it to the gym leader, Viola.

“Greetings, Trainer! I hope you don’t mind if I take some pictures while we battle. I’m always looking for new and exciting things to photograph,” she said, holding up a large camera. I nodded in agreement as we sent out our first pokemon. Angel took out the Surskit with a few strong gusts. The next pokemon Viola sent out was her Vivillon. It used Infestation right off the bat and damaged Angel pretty badly. “Angel! Are you okay?” Angel looked winded, but she shook her head vigorously to keep her in. The Pidgey got off a few gusts before I returned her; I didn’t want to lose a pokemon in the first real fight we’ve ever had. Draco took the stage and sent a flurry of ember at the bug pokemon. Its wings were ablaze as Viola returned her fallen pokemon.

She gave me the badge with a smile. “Is your Vivillon going to be okay? I didn’t mean to catch any of your pokemon on fire,” I asked, looking at Draco with a scorning expression to which he just shrugged. “She’ll be fine. It happens a lot, and the nurses seem to have figured out a way to repair her wings pretty quickly.” I nodded, thanking her for the badge as we exited the gym. I put the shiny badge in a case that my mother had given me before I had left and grinned. Draco walked calmly beside me as we continued on our way to the next route. The sun was still high in the sky, and I figured we could probably make it to the next city before nightfall.
